I really love the final scene with the group all together in a way that they really haven’t been since Wesley stole Conner halfway through season 3. In fact, I’d say that Waiting in the Wings was the last time we saw them all together and getting along. After that episode Gro and Cordy get sent on a vacation and by the time she returns Wesley has been booted from the group for the Connor theft and almost all through season 4 the group is fractured in different ways. One thing this new dynamic of them being at W&H has done is bring them together as a group. It does kind of feel like a reset for the show. Another thing to keep in mind during this early part of season 5 is that the network was really hoping to attract fans that watched Buffy only and not Angel. That was one of the main reasons they brought Spike over. So while the overall themes of the gang being out of place at Wolfram and Hart exist, these first episodes are very stand alone stories by design. The network had requested that they be that way in order to catch (what they hoped would be) new viewers up slowly and not be too dependent on knowing what came before it.

I don’t know if you mentioned this - Nox from Fred’s lab is played by the same actor who played the vampire that Buffy was “therapized by” in Conversations With Dead People in season 7. Also the actor that played Andrew in Buffy had also was a minion of Harmony’s in Season 5 Buffy. I also have something else interesting to share but want to wait till it’s an episode you finished. Been a fan since day one in 1997. I am picky about reactors but I do like you and yours. 😍
