I can never make it through Leo’s Froggy speech without tears. This is the good kinda Cheese. The extent to which the action scenes get to in the Lethal Weapon series of films, always makes me think of… Last Action Hero (1993) If Coby hasn’t seen it, then she’ll know what I’m talking about afterwards. Also between Lethal Weapon 3 & 4, Mel Gibson and Rene Russo starred in another Thriller… Ransom (1996), directed by Ron Howard… Highly Recommend Lethal Weapon 3 & 4 no longer had Christmas elements… except one. Darlene Love, as Trish Murtaugh. Perhaps the most Christmasy thing about any of the Lethal Weapon films is the casting of the "Christmas Queen," Darlene Love as Trish Murtaugh, Roger's wife. Darlene Love recorded some of the greatest Christmas Rock and Soul songs on Phil Spector's 1963 album, A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records, as well was the lead singer of the girl group, The Blossoms. Darlene worked mostly as a back-up singer earlier in her career, and only later began to gain recognition. She has since been ranked #84 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers List, been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011 and had an Oscar winning documentary made about her and other back-up singers, in 2013, 20 Feet from Stardom. David Letterman is who dubbed Darlene Love the "Christmas Queen," and I think it's fitting for one of the greatest voices ever.
