Update #1: 250 Top-down + 300 Building Assets! (Patreon)
Content
Hello folks!
This series of updates has been quite some time in the making, coming about 3 weeks later than I had planned for it to go, due to a bunch of health issues I had in the last month. I have a couple of checkups still planned, but I'm much better at the moment.
In this first update post, I'll go over the basics:
GRIFFON
I've got 250 new assets for Dungeondraft, coming close to 99% of the full conversion pack. Only got a couple of things left like shadows and some materials. After these minor updates, I would really love to try a new trick up my sleeve where I make a transformation pack (like the season-changing pack), that will allow maps to go from one time period to another. I leave it up to you to choose what pack to work on first (present-day or futuristic) and how much time to spend on it in comparison to the standard asset creation.
I also fixed a bunch of thumbnail issues in my previous pack which took some work. Should make the pack look cleaner again.
DRAGON
Now Yusuf has been helping me build a model building kit for Dungeondraft which will allow users to turn Dungeondraft into a tool that makes it possible to build miniature buildings for my topdown maps. This first update has 300 assets. In my next post, I'm going to share a bunch of free test projects I made with this pack to showcase to you what can be done. I would love to keep updating this project for a bit. Looking into building a tabletop terrain piece based on a popular franchise like Lord of the Rings, or Ghibli (staying in my reference wheelhouse there). All the assets used to build it will be available to you to try it out. I think it could also be really excellent to build illustration backdrops for scenes your players visit. Maybe make a video on this concept later.
DRAGON GOLD
Finally, I've been working on updating my animation pack. Currently working together with an animator who will help me get more animations done. It's taking a bit of time between all the other work and teaching him how to animate my particular designs, but I plan on taking some time in the following weeks to work on it with him. Once he's up to speed I know he'll be able to make a couple every month to keep it updated.
I also still plan on working on a better shadow tool in the meantime. It's the final piece to really bring all my assets to the next level of creating maps without any hassle outside of basic click-and-place tools.
Thanks for all the support
