Content

The goal of Crossland, the project I launched this month with a couple of artists, is to take some of the weight of creating content of my shoulders and clear up some room to refocus. What my vision was to basically clear space and focus a lot more on building assets, cutting down the time of the mapmaking part. Working with the Crossland team means we get to build those massive maps and worlds I always wanted to but didn't have the time for.

Now what about Crosshead?

I prefer to focus my time here on building more & more intricate assets. From your basic Dungeondraft topdown assets to isometric region map assets (which Yusuf will focus his time on), to possibly doing world map assets? Or having a better shot at expanding into more niche assets that I would normally have to postpone due to the combination of mapmaking and asset-making.

We can go down into the details of what that would look like exactly (I could make the next poll if you agree with me and focus on assets, where I can basically split my time into the asset projects you vote for and if you'd like you can leave down your suggestions for those big theme assets in the comments if I do end up making that second poll), for now, I'd just like to know if you agree with that idea or if you'd like me to return to the complex maps here as well.

Either way, I plan on still posting map designs here, most likely test maps I do with Autumn to help figure out the way the assets work in maps, just not as detailed as I used to (that will be the focus of Crossland).

I am obviously still using nolt to check out what is on people's minds for assets. What I mean by "out of the box" recommendations is outside of the basic range of "Medieval Fantasy". Maybe there are more of you who'd like to see some sci-fi or some modern assets. I'd love to put it all in range with stuff like doing assets for world maps, and with isometric maps. Just so I can figure out what the divide would be (splitting up my days according to what you are looking for!). For basic asset choices, make sure to stop by the nolt voting system: https://crosshead-studios.nolt.io/top
