Okay, the people have spoken/clicked on a poll option. 34 of 36 poll respondents indicated that they are okay with me shifting from monthly short stories to monthly CCH3 WiP links in 2020.

That's 94% of respondents, and considering that 94% of people rarely agree on anything, I am treating this as a consensus.

So December will be the last month, at least for a while, that I write a short story. Then, come January, 2020, I'll shift to posting a monthly CCH3 update in lieu of a story. I understand a few of you might be disappointed, and I understand if you unsubscribe, but I really need to focus on my big project right now, and this shift will help. The basic model will be the same, a "per creation" model. So if I don't post an updated CCH3 link in a given month, you will not be charged anything.

I have totally redesigned CCH3 in the past 10 days, and it will look nothing like the last links I posted here. It's been reworked from the ground up, and I think you will like the difference.

Truth be told, I've been anxious and disappointed in myself these past few months. I kept looking at what I had and telling myself, "This is not nearly good enough. This is boring. This is not giving readers what they want: They want their MC to be a bad ass! They want to use their new powers right away! They want more interactions with students! They want more classroom scenes! They want tons of choices and lots of goals/quests to pick from and pursue! They want conflicting goals that force them to choose their priorities and then ACT on them, not just ponder them! (Some of them) want sexy scenes with romantic partners! They want surprises and twists that they did not see coming! They want to see some old faces turn up again!"

So, that is what I'm doing my best to deliver with CCH3 2.0. I'm just 1,800 words in thus far, as I started writing it on Monday, but I'll deliver at least a 10,000-word demo come January.

I will eventually post CCH3 2.0 on the Choice of Games forums, but not until Issue 9 is pretty much done.

And a bit of a warning: CCH3 2.0 will NOT be structured like Parts 1 and Parts 2 were. For CCH3 2.0, I'm adopting more of a Choice of Games house style. You'll get some establishing choices to adjust your MC's stats, you'll be introduced to multiple mid-game goals as well as end-game goals, and then you'll be put in lots of situations where you must decide which goals to pursue, based on the primary variables they test, and based on what you actually want to accomplish.

I will really need your help to tell me what scenes you like, and which scenes need to be "punched up," as well as which goals spoke to you the most!

Okay, I will be quiet for a few weeks. Again, one more short story in December, and then the CCH3 2.0 demo in January. To my U.S. friends, enjoy your Thanksgiving! And to my non-U.S. friends, turkey is sorta overrated anyway! Enjoy whatever celebrations and family moments you have coming up!

Eric
