Though I don't really talk about personal shit I think here it's relevant. Whilst on holiday I received some really sad news a couple days ago (not to do with me but a close family member) that I had to kinda shed to try so I could try and enjoy what's left of my holiday but truly it hasn't been the same for me, until this. (I'm not saying this for any pity btw, I'm okay!)

For a couple hours ATEEZ brought me into their world and this is the first concert reaction I THOROUGHLY enjoyed for so long and that's due to a combination of things. Their MUSIC has started to lean towards my tastes more and more so overall I'm super excited to see what song is coming next but ALSO they are CHARISMASTIC performers (except Yeosang, sorry, maybe it's his reserved nature but I'd love his face to catch up to how greatly his body moves). Also they incoroprated live vocals for a good 60-70% of the entire show which is insanely  impressive, I think for Wooyoung it was like 90%!

It adds SOOO much to the atmosphere and connection to the audience which I'm always harping on about lol.

The WORST thing about this concert is the stage/outfits, in my eyes they've long outgrown a stage/venue like this HOWEVER I do speculate many times over the reasons why this is the result we got and as I say in the reaction, they're the first act that doesn't lose any momentum from subpar stages because they're sooo present vocally and physically but IMAGINE how insane they would be with a stage deserving of their stardom.

So glad i watched this, my atiny hat is ON. It really made my day!

Enjoy!

I don’t think its fatigue or lack of energy, I think its actually familiarity with the set list. A lot of this choreo is brand new to them. If you look at them at the beginning of Break the Wall tour vs at the end, they are so comfortable with the set list, the choreo is almost second nature that it allows the mental energy to go to other stuff like adding ad libs, little quirks, interactions with the other members etc. And you can tell those boys be on twitter bc when they make fans feral over some sort of quirk in their performance, you best believe they incorporate it going forward. That is basically how the Yunho “Make some noise” scream pre Guerrilla became a mainstay. Also, this concert is in Japan and while I love Japanese fans, they aren’t known for their energy (as they find it respectful to stay quiet and hear and appreciate the artists voices). They usually only sing the fan chants. I am actually surprised at how loud fans were throughout this as it is, because thats typically not the norm for them. We know artists feed off of fan energy, so I think the vibe would be VERY different at a western concert. Look no further than Mingi acting up during I’m The One on the western stops (Lotsssss of tiktoks) If you thought this set budget was low…man you should have seen last tour. They had a stage, a suspended inflatable moon hanging from the ceiling and a dream. This is actually a masssssive upgrade lol. But after you showed that Exo stage, wow I would love that for them. Here is praying for stadium stops which might mean actual LED screen budget. I loved this concert. I actually really liked their fits haha. Like when they came out at the start and were standing there looking all royal with the music I actually thought “wow they look beautiful.” Also, Seonghwa’s outfits (especially in Day 1) omg. Seonghwa in general this whole concert. He was serving face the whole show. He gets so into character and is so expressive. I love this long hair on him too. This is his era for sure. I think he has seen the appreciation online for all his androgynous looks and has really embraced his femininity this past year. I also noticed and appreciated how often they sang live. And I think as their stamina improves the more they perform on tour, that percentage of live will increase. I am impressed at Wooyoung’s effort like you pointed out. I would say he is probably the weakest vocally so I would love to see him work more on his power behind his singing. I think Seonghwa has the most stable vocals with Yunho not far behind. I think San lip synced the most of everyone which is a shame! I played back your reaction to Everything twice. Loved watching you watch that! So sorry to hear about the sad news you got. I hope you continue to get the strength to get through the hard time. This definitely brought me some joy tonight and I am 100% going to watch your reaction again! It felt like watching a concert with a friend haha. Micah, you plus me at Ateez in London this tour???

rainasoarus

ahhh i feel like they performed 10x better in seoul :( but glad u watched this, the setlist is so good and i know they’ll get even better as time goes by and they can resonate with the setlist themselves

Monksterr

I agree with everything you said, and it is a shame how much San does lip-sync here. his voice and his parts of songs are usually my favorite parts. However, I do think that it's because a lot of his parts in songs have a softer tone and higher pitch, and being able to achieve the sound he probably wants is more difficult with their choreography. But I do wish this concert had more of him singing live and maybe once they get more used to the set list hopefully we will be able to hear him more!

Koko3op

This makes sense!! It’ll be interesting to see how they perform once they’re used to it! Yes I enjoyed everything a LOT more here. After this I am very tempted to go to a concert for sure!! Wow I wonder why their budgets are so low?? Well I’m glad it’s improving bit by bit!

Koko3op

I was recommended the Japan one and I don't think the seoul one is online anywhere.

Sarah

Agree. But I find San is consistently the one that lip syncs even beyond this concert. Happens all the time in music shows. It is def a shame bc he has a gorgeous voice and we all want to hear more of it. Him and Jongho are planning a cover song together though, so I will take what I can get!

Sarah

Re budget, I agree. I wonder if its like you mentioned, save money here to spend it elsewhere. They have been performing in the same arena in Korea for the last 18 months (Korea sleeping on Ateez) so who knows if that plays a role. It definitely is an improvement as compare to before. My suspicion is that they are not coming to North America until the fall, so who knows if the tour will have changed by then! I think it would be very hard to take an elaborate stage around the world but I agree that at least in Korea they deserve an upgrade!

I knew the yunho nipple was gonna gag you 🤣

https://youtu.be/0t2i3AKL1fo?si=_ChkzuAhCeHD3oOM there’s fancam versions! not the best camera work but neither was this one tbh lol, but they did perform better either way they’re great, anyway thanks for the ateez reaction atiny appreciate u <3

kq are moving at a snails pace when it comes to giving atz what they deserve, but we can only be happy they're doing better then before I guess. they'll get there (hopefully). they deserve way bigger venues. and fans have been screaming at kq to do better (atinys managed to trend hashtags on twitter a while back with a whole bunch of things). Them releasing sub-units was one hint that things may be changing, in my eyes at least.

Rayan

I loved this so much! My two ult groups are ateez and dreamcatcher and my absolute favorite thing about them is their vocals and how much they sing live! There's actually a video I think you'd like it's called 'ateez raw vocals compilation' and it's basically a compilation of them singing during lives or karaoke or variety shows like wanteez, without any editing or anything else on their vocals.

Thank you for your reaction ! I saw some ciips of the concert bf but I watched it with you and it was such a fun time. Agree with the production stuff, even if I think there was an improvement from before. I think they tried to create a narrative and it was a good effort. There's still room to improve but I sometimes remeber that Ateez were the first team from Kq and the compagny itself is not as experienced than SM or other... I hope they continue to improve and hire competent people to follow Ateez and their greatness. The first half of the concert is indeed pretty tense but I think it was a combination of a new set + the dystopian narrative they want to tell. Their energy is really incredible, I can't believe Mingi was running eveywhere during the medley ! I loved the live arrangment, you can feel the energy (very good musicians btw). Every member shine, and you can see the growth in their confidence. I think Yeosang has made incredible progress owning his persona on stage (since Halazia), he was so subdued before and I think he's coming into himself bit by bit. The ensemble was very cohesive and I would looove to see them live (but the price when you're not close to a big city...). Thanks again for your reaction, I'm gald you had a good time amidst the bad news you receive. I hope things will get better, in the meantime it's always entertaining and interesting to watch you ! Have a good day !

Koko3op

Thank you and so glad you watched with me!! Yes that's a good point, KQ is relatively new and small for sure

i have nothing add but to say that i watched your other ateez concert upload and been waiting since for another one! And to my luck I guess, here it is hell yeaaahhh I truly enjoy watching ateez concerts along with your presence, commentary, input and all!! Now would it be greedy to ask for ‘ATEEZ XR SHOW’ or/and ‘ATEEZ WORLD TOUR THE FELLOWSHIP: BEGINNING OF THE END’? :’) They are really fun and have more of the tracks you were asking about on this upload, if you are interested ofc. Other than that, thank you for this reaction and I truly hope your days are kinder to you and lighter <3 (PS: the song you asked about at 56:17 ’Silver Light’ is a track from their latest album)

Koko3op

Thank you!! Yeahh much better now thanks. Maybe when I’m ready for my next show I will but I LOVED this setlist tbh.

Ezbai Hernandez

oooh this was unexpectedly fun!! There were 2 main reasons I wanted to watch this. First, although Ateez aren't necessarily a group for ME, I do appreciate their talent and skills they bring to the k-pop industry as a whole. For that reason I wanted to react to some of their performances but with someone who knew more of their music and would likely enjoy it more than I would. Secondly, I've been wanting to recommend the NCT 127- The Unity concert since I personally really loved it, but didn't want to possibly make you watch something you wouldn't enjoy ): After seeing your post about how much you enjoyed the Ateez concert I decided to watch it and see what aspects made you like it and what feedback you had of things that maybe weren't so much to your liking. Finally after watching your reaction, I have to say that unfortunately I would not recommend you watching the 127 concert. Although I still think it is an amazing concert and would maybe recommend SOME stages for you to watch from it, overall as a whole I don't think you would enjoy as much as you did this ATEEZ concert. Also the beyond live camera work for it was horrible so that alone I think would make you really dislike it. Anyways, thank you for posting this reaction and I had fun watching my first Ateez concert with you!! :)

Koko3op

Omg I really appreciate you considering me this way! Thank you! I was considering watching it now but maybe i'll skip it now

Amber Vanlierop

Am I the only one who feels like San doesn’t give the same energy he use too while dancing ?? I’ve noticed this the last two comebacks. Of course he’s still a phenomenal dancer and has his moments, but I feel like he sorta tries to blend in now while dancing. I wonder if kq plays a part in this, if they said smt about him “overdancing”

Koko3op

Maybe but also he could just be growing and maturing as a performer and knowing when to stand out etc

Ezbai Hernandez

I'm glad I was able to watch this before you reacted to the 127 concert! I will say that I am eagerly waiting for them to perform at Tokyo Dome just to see if a bigger stage and familiarity with the setlist will change anything at all? Also I'm really hoping the camerawork is A LOT better in Japan because Beyond Live has been TRASH with their concerts recently and based off the fancams I could definitely tell us online viewers were missing out on SO MUCH staging which made the experience a little lackluster. I would still consider getting the opinion of someone who KNOWS you and 127 before you truly decide whether or not to watch the concert. Thanks once again and hope you have a great day!! :)

I think some of your staging and costuming complaints may come from that this way not part of their world tour and just a 2 day show in Japan. I am hoping for bigger and better stages once they have their official world tour. As you said, ATEEZ deserves the best staging, lighting, and costuming.
