These were SOOO entertaining and I get why you all recommended them so much. 

Yuqi's voice HAS SO MUCH potential it's insane, did you lot hear the warmth and resonance once she got her technique down??! 

Soyeon is also GROSSLY UNDERRATED as a vocalist. Her technique is on par with literally every main vocalist I've heard in K-pop. Her Mujin service did not do her justice at all or maybe it's the mic editing on Mujin but her belts and overall technique is fantastic. 

Thoroughly enjoyed this!

Not sure if you've seen Yuqi's cover of beggin by maneskin but it's real nice if you like the deeper raspier parts of her voice

I love how the girls really take soyeons direction seriously like when they were performing nxde at a radio show and you could see Shuhua still using the punch method she was taught, cute. Also yeah soyeons 2 favs are deffo Yupi and Shuhua, like she’s mentioned before that Shuhua is her muse and inspires and lot of their songs but I agree I think she loves yuqis voice and loves to play around with it the most since they’re very different.

I noticed that Soyeon is very hands on with the members that are younger than her (Yuqi and Shuhua) but never really goes in to demonstrate anything to the older members (Miyeon and Minnie) so maybe it’s a respect thing. Instead, she spends a lot more time trying to talk them through it conceptually haha. I also noticed she’s very gentle with Shuhua especially, I think it must be to raise her confidence because I hear a lot of potential in her voice too, it will just probably take more time to get there for her.

From what I heard in interviews. Minnie was supposed to do Soyeon's part but couldn't do it. And other members tried but couldn't hit the notes. So, I think Minnie's voice wasn't suited for the parts of Yuqi's and Miyeon's either. I think Soyeon's vision was to have her do the more cool sexy parts with her voice.

These are my second favorite kind of videos that you do (right behind the Leemujin reactions of course). Soyeon's process is very fun to watch and she's so damn good at it. There's so much to say. But I think a lot of my thoughts can be summed up with the Knowing Brothers episode they were recently on where Soyeon basically got roasted (in good fun) by the other members. She definitely showed off her leadership and more when she was answering questions from the guys and the other girls. Funny thing, I can relate so much to what Soyeon is trying to get across to the girls when she's giving them directions in the booth. It reminded me of my high school choir days where the choral director would give us similar feedback on our posture and shape of our mouths, etc. Also, did you ever react to or check Yuqi's singles that she put out a couple of years ago? "Giant" and "Bonnie and Clyde". OH and speaking of subunit, go check out Minnie and Yuqi's cover of Dua Lipa's "Scared to be lonely" It's really short, but you'll be screaming for more. Agree that age is definitely the main factor with that as Soyeon is also pretty conservative culturally. These videos definitely shows Soyeon's leadership skills as she uses different ways to teach and work with each member based on their personality. She probably does this with all the staff as well, which is why she now basically leads the entire gidle team on everything

Yuqi is my favorite voice in Gidle as well. If you want to hear more of her singing singing, Yuqi actually has a single album that she released in 2021 with 2 all English songs Bonnie & Clyde and Giant. Loved those songs. She has done quite a few covers that’s on their official channel like Easy on Me (Adele), Flowers (Miley Cyrus), and Shallow (Lady Gaga). I would love to know your thoughts on those. 39:41 you just referenced one of the older ships in gidle: YuYeon lol what is even funnier is that lately we have another ship in shuhua and miyeon (which you also referenced) called TJ, tom&jerry, because they are always fighting hahahah Just a bit of gidle's lore, when they were OT6 the ships were yuyeon, MiMin and SooShu. After Soojin was made to leave, those ships were broken a little bit and some new were created, like the mentioned TJ. Also, Yuqi and Shuhua have become massive friends as gidle's babies (they are only 4 months apart, while the next older is soyeon which is 14 months older than yuqi).

Yesss that’s a great point and also I think that’s maybe what she did in the hallway with Minnie ? Cos I was wondering why we couldn’t see but yeah the age thing definitely plays a part which is interesting cos they don’t usually care for hierarchy according to their knowing bros appearance so it’s fascinating!

The two maknaes coming from Chinese culture definitely don't vibe with the whole age hierarchy thing. But I think Soyeon does to an extent. Especially in such cases, where she as the younger person, needs to constantly lead older people (in gidle and her company). And she doesn't want to come across as too pushy?

Minnie told that story on another variety appearance on Jo Hyun Ah's show (a nice cosy show btw). She actually demonstrated she could hit it on that show but as she said it was strained and she could not do it smoothly, especially as part of a performance

Thanks for reacting to these. Really appreciate it. Good comments as well Yuqi is my bias and pick for future solo star. As you said, the initial hook for her voice is that its unusually deep but then you realize it has range and versatility. She also gets better year-on-year in many ways (singing, writing, hosting). She's always openly admired Soyeon and over the years, I think she has picked up a lot and become almost a mini-Soyeon. The same drive, intelligence & work ethic. Her solo career will be interesting, though that may not happen in Korea Soyeon is just crazy talented. But she seems to think that she alone does not have mass appeal. And sadly the numbers on her solo appearances kind of validate that. So, she never maximizes her own artist profile. She really is leaning into becoming like a JYP. Company-first, with a side gig as an artist for long-term fans. She's been saying lately that she plans to produce for other groups in future besides gidle.
