It's a JOY to listen to artists. The songs may not be up my street but you can't help but feel the sense of cohesion throughout which is reaally lacking in a lot of other albums these days.

I enjoy that they also dabbled in a couple other genres but didn't lose their core feeling as a group.

VERY solid work!! This is how an album should be done.

Just letting you know, SKZ released the video of them recording Megaverse and Cover Me today. Link: https://youtu.be/YMb3EHXjs50?si=SVvex08_FPvv90Zg

Thanks for checking out the album, I appreciate you giving props to songs even if they aren't making your personal playlists. I love Wife and Super Lady, and they feel like opposite sides of a "strong woman concept" coin. But your face at 36:07 killed me! I-dle's my favorite group and even I struggled to make it through Rollie, but of all the groups that I listen to that do Black music I think they do a pretty good job. Its so hard because sometimes I can tell groups don't mean anything bad by it, but it just... stings in the wrong way? At least this one lands alright IMO. I do miss Soyeon's rapping, there wasn't much on this album compared to some of their earlier ones, but that seems to be the trend since they came back as 5 with Tomboy/I Never Die. If you end up checking out the other albums (I think it sounds like you've already listened to some in the past?) I hope ya like em :D

LAHAHAHHD No cos referencing Kobe NOW just feels VERY wild and insensitive. They could've said Lebron or something but anyway lol. Yeahh I noticed the less rapping too.

I'm a full on gidle stan so I can lack perspective judging them. Long post ahead as I have been waiting for your gidle reactions, haha I am pleasantly surprised at you giving them such a nice, full review, as I know their songs don't really align with your preferences. And for gidle, you can hear their sound signatures, even as they swap genre. Their albums are full of moments that feel like they are there because someone personally really wanted it there, not because people decided it works Song comments: 1. Doll could do with some brighter sounds mixed in. Good catch 2. The two songs you liked best, Vision & 7days, are both Minnie songs. They do sound less muted on Spotify. From all your previous gidle reactions, you like Minnie songs, so you should just react to all of them at some point :) 7days to me has potential as a follow-up English single 3. Rollie is a Yuqi song and the TMI there is that she mostly works with Team Wang (Jackson of GOT7) who's now a big shot in China. The type of faux-AAVE production here is something more common there, I think 4. Fate, the song you liked least, is a very Jpop-coded song. Soyeon privately has a major anime/jpop obsession, and this is one of the few gidle songs where that seems to be showing My greedy future requests: 1. Besides Minnie songs, any luck on getting that Miyeon solo album reaction :) Miyeon's preferences matches yours, I think. 2. It would be interesting to see you react to gidle's recording behind videos. They really are quite different from other groups

Completely agreed with your point about simple choreo during Super Lady. Literally just that bassline and that opening strut in the chorus is the choreo moment to beat in 2024 so far even though I'm pretty sure I could teach my labrador to do it as far as difficulty goes.

Love this comment!! Interesting that Minnie’s songs are the ones I like since she’s my bias! Her production style I definitely enjoy. I WAS going to mention anime but didn’t want to sound cliche lol. I think I will have to check out Miyeons album for sure ! I’ll add it to my list

I enjoyed watching this more than I did listening to the actual album lmao

you know I miss Soyeon's rapping too because she's a real, authentic rapper to me but damn she can sing her ass off, Her versatility and growth is great to see

Just wanted to say the way Super Lady was filmed with the sets and stylings looks very 2nd generation to me. The way you mentioned 2ne1 was exactly what I was thinking. Whoever did the set design and the directing of this MV to make it look so grand and expensive deserved plaudits. The budget was budgeting with the visuals and production of not only the song but also the MV. Also a side note, the ending chorus feels very Everglow-like Adios or is it just me? Lol

Ohh that was a cute listen! Didn't expect to like most of the songs! But also, how in the hell is that a FULL ALBUM with only a length of 21 min?! And only one of the songs is over 3 min, the rest is under. I guess I have to thank tiktok for that 🙄

Mint

Agree with your comment, though I actually have issues with the director of the MV for the big scenes (the close-ups are good as usual). Considering the number of dancers they employed for the MV and the scale of the set, I don't think the MV was filmed optimally. Of course, not being a cinematographer myself, I can't explain how to improve it, but for me, it feels like they could have used the scale a bit better

Mint

Guess I have to reduce my expectations on future reactions. The number of likes & comments here tells its own story. Your patreons have a clear BG preference, and I do agree that you have to go with the audience, haha :)

This was the first G-idle album I played all the way through. Very strong. Vision and 7Days are my top picks too. Super Lady feels like a moment for sure. In regards to Rollie, Miyeon def ain't pulling up on NOBODY, but Yuqi and Shuhua just might idk 👀 Also the production on Rollie reminds me of SuperM's Wish You Were Here. Like a moodier version. Is it just me?

Jackie

no I understand what you mean. For thevamount of dancers they shoukd gave used the space better. A good example I can think of is Seventeen's Super MV. The angles, the aerial shots, the zooming in and out when necessary was done so well

Mint

Yup, Seventeen's Super is a great example. Its honestly amazing that gidle + Soyeon's little team has come this far but Hybe still sets the benchmark for execution for these sort of things

Koko3op

UKygdiufgsiudg I can see Yuqi pulling up on someone for SURE. And yes the start of the guitar riff definitely sounds like with you were here.
