The greatest thing about this mini is it's sonic cohesion, it's quite refreshing to hear sounds throughout that feel connected.

Now, did anything blow me away and give me hope for the future? Hard no. I think we can safely assume WakeOne will never be that girl.

I DO commend them on the fresher more current genres tho that we here sprinkled out like the garage/drumnbass vibes AND the good vocals but the production value is lacking some polish for sure.

Enjoy!

*I ALWAYS react to Mujin Services, obviously lol so I'm already aware of Hao's episode and am going to react to it so don't worry*

This album is a trillion times better than Youth In The Shade, although I am not a fan of the beat drop in Crush, it kinda ruined the song for me lol but you can tell there is a lot more unique elements in this comeback and they are starting to develop their own individual style which I really enjoy, the previous album definitely just felt like bsides that were created for whoever made the lineup which was most likely the case (on another note I hope you can check out Zhang Hao's Lee Mujin service if you ever get the time it was really good imo!)

“That sounds like something” -Me the whole album 🤣

So I had to listen to this album a bit to give it a chance. I liked the the b-sides better than the title track but after a few days I've grown to like Crush. Don't like the beat drop but the vocals in the hook make the song listenable for me. At first I was thinking Melting Point should have been the TT but I'm actually okay with Crush now. Taerae killed his ad libs but I wish it was longer and richer. Although all the songs should have been made longer. All of them being under 3 min except Take My Hand is disappointing. They have so many decent vocalists so they deserve to have longer songs to show it

2023-11-13 06:05:05 I’ve watched this vid multiple times, as your opinions are so on point. YITS sounds like an album made for teens by teens, whereas Melting Point is for those in their 20s lol. Every song in MP is def a step up than YITS era (except Back to Zerobase which is my fave too). Kidz Zone and Goodnight are my ear candy… And yes, my all time K-pop ULT is Ricky, and he can’t do no wrong in my eyes. But seriously, Ricky’s tone - it’s refined, controlled and sweet. You always know it’s him singing…
