OVERALL, if it wasn't for those holy trinity of songs I would've loathed this album when it comes to MY tastes HOWEVER I still would've given it a decent rating because the entire production of the album feels fresher than 2023 and not dated at all which was a pleasant surprise. 

I gave it a B because there are a LOT of great musical moments in the vocals and production that shows work went into this album. If it was a rush job it certainly didn't feel like it!

No you are definitely right about the two different keys for Parade but how you compared it to step back the reason why I believe that worked is because although the melody and bass didn’t resolve when the girls were singing they sang some resolution notes. So instead of it become a run on Paragraph like parade it became a regular paragraph but with the correct placement of periods and comas! ❤️😌

i really enjoyed this album as well, it sounded fresh and really really made me proud of 127 for how far they've come! There were some really great moments on each track, like everyone singing on Misty ---- The MV was really cool too, I liked the warped-space Inception + Doctor Strange meets Regular MV style to it. The outfits they wore at the landmark were really nice too, it really felt neo-culture lol. For me the MV does fit lyrically and conceptually, but a video with the vibe you described (high-energy, on a beach, light make-up) would've been more appropriate. I do agree with your thoughts on Parade, it does feel like he is trying to outdo himself lol-- I find myself revisiting his simple works more often because they do have that uniqueness but it's arranged in a way that is easier to follow. I still love Parade but it's not a track I'd put on casually. I love love the "ooh's" Doyoung does on Yacht (also apparently the track samples Anything by SWV??) Completely unrelated but those three tracks (holy trinity) really make me excited for RV's album... I really really hope SM gives them the best of the best this time around.. like it's been like so many years since a full studio album from them. And finally.. SM definitely has issues with track listing lol, whiplash is the perfect term to describe the way they arrange their projects sometimes

I love this album, the production through the whole album was too good. Love is a beauty and misty are gonna have to fight it out because the vocals on these two are unmatched, run after run, the harmonies, that key change. The piano in misty, I was ascending. I love the balance of getting the hard hitting songs with smooth and chill songs. The only songs I wouldn't play that much are angel eyes and real life but overall I enjoyed this album.

Misty was a whole experience. Easily my fave song in the album. I feel like it would be great live.

Misty might be the most interesting song to come out of SM this year lol The production and harmonies are great, SM should work with that producer again, if they haven't. For the rest of the album, its a no for me. Your point about parade is the main issue I have with dem jointz, like can you not make such a messy song for once? At this point, my expectation for any SM album is at a -1 even if its coming from my favs. Like I'm not really anticipating Taemin's album anymore 😭

Fact Check is one of the worst songs on the album imo. I find it pretty boring by 127 standards, especially as a title track, and the lyrics were soooo bad lol. Tbh it gives me Zoo vibes or something that SM would give for one of their multi-group collaborations. The b-sides are def way better. I really like Space, Yacht, and Love is a beauty. I think the raps are really weak on some songs, like Parade and Je Ne Sais Quoi, and it really weakens the songs. I find a lot of the more "jarring" raps are disappointingly coming from Jaehyun. To be frank I am tired of rapper Jaehyun and he's too good of a singer for SM to be screwing around with him like that. Haechan was serving vocals as usual. I agree with you the production on some songs is pretty fresh and overall it's not a bad album, but I still feel like it's missing somehting. This isn't anywhere near my fav 127 album but, I def like it better than 2 Baddies and def way more than the NCT 2023 release. A step up, but I'm hoping next album improves even more!

Honestly I feel the same way, dem jointz has made songs like Selfish by YooA, Timelapse & designer by Nct 127 , Yayaya by exo, etc. these are all songs that aren’t that messy and are beautiful . Idk why he’s been making these noisy songs lately 😭 it’s not the good noisy either

Yess Jaehyun needs to be left singing! Omg it does remind me of Zoo you're so right! The lyrics for Fact Check really aren't the best too lol

i dont know fact check is really growing on me!! with headphones on its the type of hype song I enjoy and I dont feel like its noisy for noise sake. Felt like Fact check was a solid title track for 127! So far my top 3 from this album is je ne sais quoi, love is a beauty and fact check. But honestly loving this album overall!!

Yeahh you might've missed my community post on youtube from earlier today but it's like a solid 8 for me now with headphones. SOO much better without the MV and now probably in my top releases for 2023!!

ooh was rewatching some NCT 127 album reactions and saw this comment! Not sure if you know about this but they performed Misty at their The Unity concert for the first week of Seoul. I think there are only fancams of the performance since it wasn't performed the day they streamed online but if you haven't seen it yet I recommend watching it : ) I personally loved the live version of it but I could also be biased since it also was my favorite song off the album!!
