Ermmmmmmmm....

it's a naaa for me dawg jhfdfsdhi.

Don't get me wrong, if I hadn't heard the songs I LOVE from Perfect Red Velvet album already I may have ranked it a bit higher HOWEVER I feel like I still would've been perplexed by some of the songs that are included on there, EASILY some of my LEAST favourite Red Velvet songs I've heard which is disappointing for the amazing Velvet tracks that SHINE.

Red Summer like I said felt like a throwaway mini to me, a lot of the sound that I loved from previous albums ESPECIALLY the vocal heavy mix is gradually starting to fade away AND how their delivering their vocals is also much more restrained now which is interesting to hear chronologically and I wonder if anyone else has noticed this?

Looking forward to the next two!

Enjoy!

omg I love Red Summer sorry! LOL Maybe it's because i live in a tropical city but that album(and Power-Up) during summer is my jam for sure!!! Red Flavor is one of the best kpop songs ever imo. The rest of the album flows well and I LOVE Hear the Sea, it's so pleasant to listen to. With that said, I agree with everything you said about the production and I hadn't realized that shift happening up until now, now it is very clear why some of their works feel juicier than others. The Perfect Red Velvet would be a Perfect 10 in my books if it wasn't for My Second Date, that is literally the worst Red Velvet song ever. The concept is so weird, the lyrics, the melody, the production, everything is a no to me, even the vocals and that's a huge feat lol Attaboy though, I actually love that song! lol And the funny part is that I feel like Attaboy is similar to My Second Date? Which is a big no-no, like why do we have two similar songs in the same album and back-to-back??? Anyway, I hope their upcoming full album will be my favorite lol but I'm not holding my breath, SM has been wack lately hehe

Ahh you mentioned La Rouge concert and what happened is that unfortunately that did not become a DVD, maybe because of Wendy's accident, I'm not sure.. but yeah, every revluv is sad about that because that seemed like the best concert they ever did :((

I've been loving seeing you react to red velvet albums and unsurprisingly I agree with what you said: their sound is absolutely different and more shallow which is very disapointing considering that in red velvet's music the richness and the kind of very honest vocal approach to their songs were the main things that drew me in. I Just, Attaboy and My second date are banned in my house like they are sooo unpleasant I can't haha. Look is such a gem on this album and in rv's discography in general; it's a very good exemple of how they can bring some groove and bounce to their more velvety projects and the CHOREO! To me, this was rv at their best choreography wise, the way they all get their moment to shine front and center, the use of their extended arms and legs and the use of the floor as well was honesty impressive for RV cause they are not known for their choreo but this stood out. We need whoever worked on it back in the SM basement because I'm so done with their newer choreo, everything feels very static and just pretty and we know they can and HAVE done more/better.
