I feel in love with Sejeong from her very first audition on PD101 lol, glad to see you appreciating her in the same way. It’s always funny to hear her be known as an actress before an idol haha. I miss IOI so much 😩 Absolutely insane lineup for a girl group, I really think they would’ve gone so far if they had remained a fixed group.

Oh wow! I gotta watch this! I watched the new IU Palette episode with her and absolutely loved her personality and her voice is so gorgeous and the music was really good too so I started listening to her discography and I've already found some gems!! I didn't know she was this talented either, I only knew her from Business Proposal. You're putting her up there with Taeyeon this must be SERIOUS. lol

Oh absolutely. In terms of technique, range and overall delivery she BLOWS Taeyeon out of the water. Taeyeon's voice and note choices and vocal layering is what makes her no.1 for me BUT Sejeong also has a beautiful tone. We'll know once I've checked out her music!

im ngl after seeing her in business proposal and then uncanny counter and factoring in the gap since her last release (early 2021) i was convinced she wasnt going back to music anytime soon but im pleasantly surprised to see shes come back and its with a full album!

Sejeong is my number 1 soloist. She’s my comfort artists. She’s a very warm and bright person, and she’s literally someone who is good at anything she tries. Okay, small theory on the MV put together between observation and some things she has said about the song it self; Those killers, are supposed to represent parts of her mind. That mansion is her head. She’s driven herself to the cliff and it’s up to her to fight back against herself. Thats why her final fight at the end you see flashes of her fighting herself and not that man. That little girl in the elevator is supposed to represent the little innocence and purity she has left, so in the end when she took the gun from the little girl (it was the final scene after the credits) she was protecting her own innocence and purity.

I recommended this video in the comments on your Jun reaction. I told you she was the best female vocalist I've seen on the show (best male vocalist probably Sangyeon). I can't lie I feel incredibly validated you felt the same way.

I am so elated that Kim Sejeong finally released a full solo album. For years, I’ve been annoyed that her discography is mostly OSTs and a few singles after hearing all the amazing covers she has performed.

also I did notice Mujin seemed a little off when I first watched the first time. Then I saw on social media that Daehoon, the pianist, is leaving the show for mandatory military service and this was his last episode (I think that's why they showed his face for the first time). The production crew for Leemujin Service is only like 5 people, so everyone is probably very close. He may have just been a little sad/less bubbly than usual.

her and taeyeon for me are amazing vocalist but also an amazing singer that is able to express the emotions. with taeyeon i feel like her emotions in song sound a bit more modern compared to sejeong who is leaning more towards old school since she loves that kind of songs

Yay! I know that she’s a big fan of Taeyeon and even said that she is her big role model. She covered a lot of Taeyeon’s songs too! She mentioned that Taeyeon ‘s UR is her vocal textbook.

I was going to bug you to react to this on your next Mujin reaction. Glad you beat me to it. She released a big, long album ("Door") together with the 2 singles, so you may want to react to that. I feel this latest album is the best place to start as its the first time where it feels like her full, unfiltered vision. But if you are looking for singles reactions, you can go further back as there are gems there. Do note however, that those belong more on the K-ballad side of things If you are looking to get to know her a bit, then I would suggest her recent appearance on IU's Palette

Vocally speaking, Sejeong was special even then, so I wouldn't look at it as falling standards. The reality is when you look around the full Korean music landscape, there are so many good solo singers, that you appreciate why most idols can't maintain a solo career post-group disbandment Sejeong's live technique has probably improved as well after her successful stint in stage musicals

Loved the reaction. “Flower away” is one of my favorite ballads; one of those songs I play on repeat at 3am when I can’t sleep. I recently came across a clip of her from a fan meeting she had about a year ago. Not sure how you feel about the song, but she sang Never Enough from The Greatest Showman. I think you’d like it. React if you want but definitely check it out. Great job as always. This is one I’ll definitely Be watching again.

Amazing reaction! Both I.O.I and Gugudan were chock full of SINGERS but she was the best in both. At the time everyone said she was second vocally in I.O.I, but tbh I think she was just more humble about her vocals than Yeonjung back then lol. I.O.I was a top tier group for me, BUT sadly they were mismanaged so badly like more than half the group were vocally strong enough that they went on Masked Singer and yet their music was kept very cutesy and did not show off what they could really do. Their performance/cover of Hip Song was their best moment for me, which was actually their first performance as the final group after the show. This Mujin service reminded me of how amazing she is, and even though I prefer groups and tend to avoid soloists, I’m definitely gonna check her solo stuff after this. ATEEEEE! At the end in the duet when she hit those notes and you were like “are you fucking DUMB” I cackled 😂

I recently checked out her album and I was blown away by her vocals. Usually I'm not the biggest ballads fan but there's only a few artists that lock me in because of how emotive they are with their vocals and it's Taeyeon and Jonghyun. She is now on my list because I felt it. Vocalists can belt all they want but if they can't make me feel the song then what's the point?

Got to the end of your reaction on 2nd viewing. Don't be too harsh on the Woodz recommender, haha. Sejeong's older good songs are K-ballad, while IOI mostly wasted her talents. She has always been a good singer but as she explains here, she had not developed a recognizable style by jumping here and there. Some singer-songwriters need time to find their path. Which is why, you discovering her on this album may be a good thing

I've watched the video now and woowwwww, she really is very skilled but so humble and underrated? Like ??? Where have I been that I've never listened to her music before?? People are not talking about her enough! You mentioning the Woodz spamming took me out btw LOL On IU Palette both of her song choices didn't showcase not even 10% of her vocal ability lol And the song IU covered was also very simple so I was not expecting all of this from her at all. What a nice surprise! The opera song made me tear up a little I must confess. lol She reminds me of IU in how she emotes so well, she really sings with sincerity. I'm excited for you to check out her discography, one of the songs on the new album actually reminded me of Taeyeon and that was before you posted this video lol I think the song title is Jenga, it made me think like "wait this could totally be an SM song, just add some vocal layers, some harmonies, a nice long high note on the bridge for climax and there you have it!" lol At first I thought it could be a NCT unit song, maybe a Dojaejung or Dream but then I thought it could be a Taeyeon song too. Anyways! Thanks for the reaction, I never watch Mujin service because I don't like the set LOL But this was very nice! <3

I watched her in Business Proposal and the main OST was so good I had to download it only to find out both her and the actor who was the male lead sang the OST and I was shook. Then I realized omg she was in IOI because I used to listen to their music when they were active and Woozi had produced a song for them back then but I never knew the members (imagine when I found out Somi, Chungha and Kim Sejeong were in a group together lol). I also watched Uncanny Counter and honestly kind of fell in love with her and im so glad she's back to music and hope we get more in the future.

Not me caving and becoming a patron to watch this video specifically 😭🤚 I've been a fan of Sejeong since she had her solo debut and thought it was such a shame that her solo music career wasn't as successful. As much as I loved watching her act in dramas, I missed hearing her sing, so her releasing new music has made me really happy!! She really is talented at emoting and is one of the idols I respect the most. Her tone and storytelling are what I love. She's also just a super positive, hard-working person in general. It's very humbling. I enjoyed watching this very much! I've been a lowkey yt viewer for a while, so I will make the most out of this month of Patreon content! 😊 And I'm sure all the comments are more than enough suggestions to last a lifetime LOL, but my two cents for Sejeong content are her '25, 21' cover on King of Masked Singer, and the song Skyline from her 1st EP (one of my favourites).

im so late to the party but OHMYGOD IM SO GLAD YOU REACTED TO THIS!! sejeong is one of the few vocalists who can give me full body chills with her voice like i fully agree with your opinion on sohyang's voice where she was too technically good but lacked a bit of emotiveness, which is why sejeong is like SOOO perfect for me. she has so many covers along with what everyone mentioned above that you should check out !
