This made me feel soo good and it almost felt foreign to see so many EXCEPTIONAL vocalist COMMAND their vocals with such precision and standard you do NOT see in boy groups anymore. 

We need to bring vocals back man because great singers just do it so well!

Oh wow I just found out that Chen and Baekhyun got in to SM through the same audition 2011 SM got so lucky finding insane vocalists that close together. DO got into SM in 2010. EXO’s vocal line is stacked even by SM standards.

You can drag SM for many things, I have said they are going through a identity crisis musically as a company but till this day there is no company that has more vocal talent than SM. Having D.O, Baekhyun, and Chen as a vocal line in just one group is crazy to see. The technical skill, the tone and texture differences between all the member. I’m in the pink blood whatever for the long hall because there will be no other EXO really and I say thing about SHINee and SNSD. There’s just too much talent in one company

DO getting that kind of volume, that kind of clarity, that kind of breath control, all while sitting down???? Unreal. Simply unreal. Also that comment about Suho's voice? 100%. One thing I think about is that these dudes have had front row seats to vocal masterclasses (Chen, Baek, DO) for a decade. Learning from them directly and just watching them has done WONDERS for everyone else figuring out how to best use the voices they have.

2nd gen had the strong vocalists, few exceptional dancers in the groups and meh rappers 3rd gen had strong vocalists, overall better dancers in groups and few exceptional rappers 4th gen has rappers and dance crews with a sprinkle of good vocals xD I blame audition programs or maybe I'm just a whiny 2nd/3rd gen stan. Watching this makes me mourn all the recordings we could've had of exo through the years, like imagine hearing a tempo recording ?!!

These behind the scenes recordings were everything! I feel so robbed that we are only now seeing these talented men at work but also thankful that we at least can see this. How I wish they also filmed Let Me In. Our main vocalists were doing all the things but dammit Chanyeol needs to stop playing and drop that mini album. I love his tone so much. I need him to sing forreal because it's in him. I cannot wait for his solo and I really hope it's good because these recent projects from other artists are underwhelming. (I did enjoy Chen's Japanese project but it's Chen so my ult bias is showing #vocals) Also, D.O. sitting down, vocal flexing like it's nothing was disrespectful. The audacity to be that talented! I was gagged. Now I have to watch it again.

They realy aren't doing it like 2nd/3rd Gen were nowadays it's the sad reality ㅠㅠ It blows my mind that we were blessed to have D.O, Baekhyun AND Chen in the same group and it's difficult to find a SINGLE vocalist at any of their levels in BG's today let alone more than 1 in the same group. Makes me think of DBSK too like we were really blessed with those powerhouses. Reading the Korean comments under Kara's killing voice is so interesting with loads of people saying the same thing "Can't believe Kara were labelled as a vocally weak group back in the day when you see the state of the industry today" but that just goes to show the STANDARD groups were held at!! I remember 'weaker' vocalists being critiqued constantly and now I look back in shock like the 'weaker' vocalists were still trained VOCALISTS who got lost in the sea of crazy powerhouses during that time and today we have mid vocalists, rappers and dancers (I love a good rapper & a good dancer btw) running amok all over the gaff. I know your frustration with BG's and I'm 100% with you but I also have a bone to pick with some of the GG's being put out nowadays, I'm tired of the 'pretty' voices and honestly miss singers with POWER and PRESENCE like the ladies from CSJH the grace, Brown Eyed Girls, Sistar, SNSD, SeeYa etc anyways i'm going on lol I hope SM put out more EXO recordings, that was a treat!!!!

SOO True! Man it really sucks. I hear that too, pretty whiny voices from the girls are becoming very one note, i'm seeing this on R U NEXT too but tbh at least we have powerful singers from STAYC & Fromis_9 but i hear you!

Also DO is just insane at this point. My mans was sitting down hitting the notes like it was just another regular day for him!!! Jesus. Imagine if we have BTS recording of their earlier albums? I don't think Id survive it tbh. This is what these new generation of idols need to take notes on!!!

I hate SM, but GDAMN they did good putting this group together. Like obviously our holy trinity is our holy trinity for a reason. But Jesus they all are just amazing. And D.O. casually letting out these crazy ass notes WHILE SITTING DOWN like it was nothing just goes to show the talent in this group. Uhhh. EXO for life. Groups are not this talented anymore. This is why I’ll forever be stuck on EXO. Hahaha nothing will ever come close
