This was such an interesting watch! For me, it showed that you're not only practicing your lines and how to hit the notes properly, but there's actually so much more behind it - all those thought processes on how to deliver the lines, and then especially what hanbin said about giving the part over to the next member and having to carry the same kind of vibe throughout the song. Like, it all makes so much sense, so that you get a cohesive project in the end, but I never really realised how extensive the preparations for those recordings are. It also shows that - while there are groups that are self producing their music - you can still put your own individuality as a person and group into a song that has been given to you by a producer. So in that sense, idols aren't just performers but also the artists of their songs. Of course not to the same level as the aforementioned self producing groups, but still that's valid and worth acknowleging, to me at least. Same goes for choreographies as we've seen on bp where they had to work out the details and delivery on they're own.

I also really liked how they did this! It was more interesting to me to see how each of them approach recordings, whether that be discussing their overall thoughts on the songs and trying to understand how to properly convey the meaning/concept or going full choir teacher mode like Haorae did (the scale warmups gave me war flashbacks to high school choir and drama lol). Slightly unrelated but have you seen them on Human Idol Theater? I feel like you referenced something from it a couple weeks ago but wasn't sure if you had seen the full thing, but it's definitely my favourite variety content they've done so far!

how did we go through 12+ weeks of boys planet and not know ricky sings like THAT until after debut? the injustice 😭 i really loved seeing hao in his music teacher element, and haorae just work so well together. i also loved seeing gunwook help ricky with pronunciation, it reminds me of haobin during tomboy… theyre so precious and supportive i love this group so much

i love ricky's tone, too! i feel like he has nct jaehyun potential. husky, lower-toned, and simply capable. ending the song with him + hanbin was a great choice. i'm hoping they'll get some songs that are pitched lower just bc i don't think we get their full potential with songs like in bloom. hearing how beautiful they sounded covering start over by gaho that is a fuller, lower song made me 👀👀👀👀 want it.
