Love your reactions and I always learn something from them! I would love others thoughts but I think that he utilises some of the techniques you talk about more when singing TXT songs he’s more a familiar with and also in Korean. I’ve seen this with other artists and even friends and myself, it’s common peoples voices kind of change when speaking or singing different languages. For example when I speak Thai, my voice is a bit more nasally based on the language and the common sounds and tones than when I’m speaking English. I’m not a singer and don’t really have the official technical terms to describe what I mean but curious if singing in English (maybe coupled with nerves?) affects the singing techniques he’s using or not using here.

Yeahh I've spoken about singing in different languages often and the changes it can bring to the voice which is interesting! I'll have a closer listen when he's singing in Korean to see if it's similar.
