WHAT A journey.

The musicianship, the VOCALS, the lyrics.

There's no shadow of a doubt that Taeyeon has an IMMENSE gift. How she layers her vocals and uses particular vocal melodies, I'm hooked. She is Brandy's daughter and that's a huge compliment.

I have some new favourites from here, can you guess what they are??

While INVU album centered around the journey of breakup and Purpose has a more darker undertone in the lyrics and melody (probably this was around the time she was battling the most with her mental health?), My Voice has more conventional pop love songs and ballads. I'd be curious on what would be your favorite Taeyeon's full album among the three!

I usually listen to albums all the way through once and then pick me favorites that I have on repeat but this album I just put on whenever and let play I just follow her on the journey. Beautiful piece of work. And I always think it’s crazy how we perceive music because Four Seasons is one of Taeyeon like biggest hit especially in Korea and got her I wanna say first daesang or grand prize as soloist but I can see how people would be kinda put off by it. Last thing because you mentioned her introspective lyrics, she was almost going to past on four seasons because she couldn’t relate to the lyrics in terms of a romantic relationship but when she approached the song in terms of a relationship with her singing career or just singing in general she established that connection with the song. After years of giving singing her all, all of her winters summers since she was 19, hitting a point where she has to ask herself do I really love singing? Do want to try something new? I love it, anyway to wrap up this Ted talk of a comment. Love your reviews and reaction you can never go wrong with more Taeyeon stay healthy and safe thank you for the content.

Love this Ted Talk of a comment so thank you! Interesting to know that's what she felt about four seasons, similiar to how Taemin felt about dancing! I'm looking forward to listening to her other album and eps. I think I would've enjoyed four seasons more on another album for sure.

I knew you would vibe with wine (one of my favourites on the album). Gravity and drawing our moments are the aces of the album, her vocals are on another level. LOL finally I'm not the only one that doesn't vibe with four seasons, it reminds me of maroon 5 or something like that and I agree it doesn't mesh with the album well. Can't wait for you to check out My voice, it's probably my favourite album next to purpose.

I feel like the reason Purpose in particular was so introspective and felt almost like a mental health journey may have been cuz she has spoken about dealing with periods of depression/loneliness (you what they say it can be lonely at the top). And this album was released almost 2 years after Shinee's Jonghyun lost his battle with depression. she was performing many of these tracks at her concerts months before the official release. So it is possible this album showed how his passing affected her because they were very close.

Blue and Four Seasons were bonus tracks that were pre-released. That's probably why Four Seasons seemed out of place. I love the tracks added in the repackage like Dear Me My Tragedy and Drawing Moments cuz it felt like it clarified/completed the message she was sending. (didn't feel like an afterthought like some new songs on repackage albums.) Like this album was a letter to her past self. I hope you check out My Voice next and I also love her debut Album cuz Farewell and UR on it.

I actually love Four seasons, but I agree it doesn't fit the flow with the rest of the album. It was originally released as a single (with Blue) in March 2019, then in October they decided to tack those onto her 'Purpose' album, but only in the delux edition, not part of the regular digital album. Probably because it was such a big hit in Korea.

I knew Find Me would hit for you - when it came out I would put it on in the car and physically rewind verses for the runs. Can’t wait to hear what you have to say about My Voice and super curious which album ranks highest for you out of the 3 full ones. Each album has left a different mark on me and I juggle between Purpose and My Voice (which usually wins for me, think it has something to do with watching her finally seem back to full confidence post solo debut in the Persona tour).

Well officially the album ended with Drawing Our Moments but she never leave her single, that's how 11:11 is in My Voice, Four Seasons and Blue in Purpose, Happy in What Do I Call you mini, and weekend in INVU. Love how you love DOM and wine, my favourites. I would say you should try blue live version, the arrangement enhance the song imo even though blue still one of my favorite anyway
