Here's this month's Community Story! I realize I did just write an entry into a short story series using the subtitle Trick or Treat, but it was too perfect a title for this story as well. I also realize that I posted something else today, too, but, spoiler alert, I have stuff coming out every day for the rest of the month, so I didn't have a free one open for just this. Happy Halloween!

"I do not look like that much of a baby!" Maisie glared at her so-called friends, sulking as they laughed at her anger.

"Come on, Maisie Daisy," her roommate, Alexandra, smiled, "don't be upset... I didn't say you looked like a baby."

"Don't call me that!" Maisie fumed. "And yes, you did!"

"I said you could get away with trick or treating if you wanted," Alexandra corrected her. "That doesn't mean you're a baby. Just, you know... A little kid."

Maisie rolled her eyes. "Oh, sure, that's so much better..."

Alexandra smirked, eyes sparkling with delight. "You don't think so?" she asked. "Fine, then... I was just going to dare you to dress up, but now I dare you to dress up like a toddler so you can go trick or treating."

"Oh, my God!" one of their friends giggled. "That's going to be so cute!"

"This is so stupid," Maisie huffed. "I don't want to go trick or treating! Everyone's going to think I'm some weirdo, or..."

"I'll tell you what," Alexandra cooed. "As soon as someone asks you if you're too old to be trick or treating, you can stop, and you win. Or, if you get a whole bag of candy without anyone questioning it... I win."

"That's gonna take me all night!" Maisie whined.

"I doubt it," Alexandra told her, reaching over and pinching her cheeks. "Not as cute as you're going to look! I am going to have to approve your costume, to make sure you aren't half-assing it to help yourself win."

Maisie glowered. "I didn't say I was going to do it!"

But she didn't have to... All their friends had heard the dare, and, as usual, Alexandra was plowing ahead, assuming that Maisie was going to go along with it. That was the way it usually went with them... Maisie was a bit of a pushover, she had to admit, and there was something about Alexandra that made it especially difficult to say no to her.

So, against her better judgement, Maisie went out to buy herself a costume. There were some baby costumes, some just footed pajamas, others tiny dresses with fake diapers, but those felt far too embarrassing to go out in... And the bet was for her to be a toddler, not a baby. She couldn't find anything specific to that in the costume store.

She knew - even if she would never have told Alexandra and their friends this - she could fit into children's sizes, however, so she went to a regular clothes store and searched for the most immature dress she could find, ending up with a pink babydoll dress with a white Peter Pan collar and Hello Kitty as a ballerina on the front, definitely not something she, or anyone else her age, she suspected, would wear. Finishing it up with a pair of lacy white ankle socks and white Mary Janes, she thought she'd fulfilled her part of the dare quite well.

Their friends seemed to agree, cooing over her all day at school on Halloween as she walked around campus in it at Alexandra's insistence. "It'll be good for you to get used to people seeing you in it," she said.

Her friends, of course, recognized her, as well as most of her usual classmates... Other than that, however, far too many people came up to her, asking her if she was lost, asking if she was visiting her big sister for Halloween... Even the woman at the cafeteria, who was there scanning IDs most days, let her in for free with a wink and a piece of candy.

"What do you say, sweetie?" she asked.

Maisie frowned, confused, still digging for her ID. "Don't you want my...?"

"What do you say?" the woman raised an eyebrow.

Maisie sighed. "Thank you?" she tried.

"That's good!" the woman patted her on the head condescendingly. "Good to hear you have manners, little one. But today is Halloween, isn't it? So what do you say?"

Maisie rolled her eyes as it finally dawned on her what the woman wanted. There was too much of a line building up behind her for her to fight it, and all she wanted at this point was to go grab some food and get this over with. "Trick or treat," she grumbled.

And then, to her surprise, something happened. She fidgeted, shocked, praying that she was wrong about what she thought she'd felt as, at last, she was waved in. Wiggling in place, she shuffled to the food line, having to wait until she was sitting down at her friends' usual table to confirm that, indeed, there was a tiny wet spot in her panties.

It didn't feel like much, barely a dribble, but obviously peeing her pants at all was unusual. She was in college! She didn't do that! She hadn't in a long, long time! Why, all of a sudden, was it happening again? She squirmed, stomach churning, wondering if she was getting sick, or if, maybe, she had just been too embarrassed at the display she'd been forced to put on... Either way, it certainly didn't bode well for what Alexandra had in mind for her later that night.

"I'm not trick or treating here," she informed Alexandra.

"Of course not," Alexandra agreed immediately, shockingly. "That would be too easy... People around here might have seen you walking around campus before." Given Maisie's experiences so far, she wasn't sure about that, though she was grateful not to have to worry about running into anyone she knew.

Still, when she passed the booth offering face paint and temporary hair dye set up in the quad, between one for a jack o'lantern contest, and another handing out sheets for a campus-wide scavenger hunt, she couldn't resist. Not the former, of course, that seeming like something that would make her look more childish, but the latter, having them spray her hair purple.

"I couldn't help it," she told Alexandra. "Nicole made me do it."

"Did she, now?" Alexandra asked skeptically. Maisie blushed, wondering if the other girl was going to message their friend and ask. "Well, whatever," she shrugged after a long moment. "It's Halloween... Your Mommy may have let you color your hair for the night."

"Maybe," Maisie nodded. It was possible, she supposed... Hopefully, it would give people pause, however, make them question if she might be at least a little older than Alexandra wanted her to appear.

She thought she'd gotten away with it, too, as Alexandra drove her out, away from campus, to another neighborhood. "This will be a good one," Alexandra promised. "It's out in the country a bit, but all the houses are so big... I bet they'll give you lots of candy, so you'll fill up your bag in no time."

"Or they'll know I'm a grown-up," Maisie pointed out.

Alexandra smirked at her. "Sure," she said. "Or that."

When they stopped, Alexandra didn't just let her get started, though. "Hold up," she grabbed her hand.

"Right," Maisie nodded anxiously. "I need my trick or treat bag."

"You do," Alexandra agreed. "I also need to approve your costume."

"What?" Maisie sighed. "You've been seeing it all day!"

That didn't stop her roommate from turning her around, looking her up and down from every angle... And then, before Maisie could stop her, grabbing the hem of her skirt and lifting it. "H-Hey!" Maisie squealed, grabbing her dress and trying to yank it out of her grip.

"You look adorable," Alexandra observed. "But if you're really going to be a toddler, you're missing one thing..."

Maisie's eyes widened as she watched Alexandra open up the trunk of her car, pulling out something that she knew instantly was a diaper bag, even before the girl took out a changing mat, laying it out on the back seat, setting a bottle of baby powder and a thick, white diaper on the floorboards. "Wh-Why do you have all that?" she whined. "I'm not wearing...!"

"I have final approval over your costume," Alexandra reminded her. "And after what you did in your panties this afternoon..."

"Y-You know about that?" Maisie asked quietly, wishing she'd hidden her panties a bit deeper in her hamper. "I-It was only a couple drops..."

"Halloween is a long, exciting night for a little girl like you," Alexandra teased, unfolding the diaper, laying it out on the mat, giving it a pat. Maisie groaned at the sound of crinkling, at the sight of how bulky it looked, at the thought of having it wrapped around her bottom. "And you already cheated, pulling that stunt with your hair, so I'd say this is only fair."

The dress was long enough to cover the diaper, but it was impossible for Maisie to ignore it, poofing out between her thighs the way it did, forcing her legs apart. To her, at least, it seemed so incredibly obvious... And so clearly not simply a fake costume diaper like the ones she'd seen in the Halloween store. This was a real diaper, really taped snugly around her waist, as if she really were a toddler and not a college girl.

"There we go!" Alexandra declared, giving Maisie a pat on the backside, Maisie pouting in response. "Now, come on, Maisie Daisy... It's showtime!"

"Y-You're coming with me?" Maisie blinked up at her as she held out her hand expectantly.

"Of course I am, silly... Nobody would let a toddler go out trick or treating on her own. Don't worry, I won't cramp your style... I'll just be close enough for people to know you have a babysitter."

That was, indeed, how she looked, diaper bag over her shoulder, leading Maisie by the hand down the road. For as relatively remote as this was, it seemed like plenty of other people had gotten the same idea as Alexandra, walking past them, waving and smiling, none showing any sign that they suspected Maisie was anything other than a small child, more than young enough to be trick or treating.

True to her word, Alexandra hung back as they approached the first house, staying by the open gate, sending Maisie toddling nervously up to the porch where a woman in a witch costume was waiting. "And what are you supposed to be, dear?" she asked.

Maisie blinked, glancing down at herself. If the costume worked, she realized, it made it look as if she wasn't actually in one at all... She hadn't considered that part, had assumed that it would be obvious she wasn't really a toddler... "I-I'm a little girl," she replied quietly, not wanting Alexandra to overhear, to declare that as her cheating, even more than with the hair dye.

"Yes, I can see that," the witch chuckled. "But you're supposed to be in costume, silly. Are you Hello Kitty?" she nodded to the character on Maisie's dress.

Maisie nibbled her bottom lip, blushing, wanting nothing more, now, than to get this over with. "Y-Yeah," she mumbled. "Th-That's it."

"Very cute," the witch smiled approvingly. "Well, then, what do you say, dear?"

The incident at the cafeteria had primed Maisie for this, even if it felt much more embarrassing to do it now, for real. "Trick or treat," she sighed, holding out her bag... And then letting out a tiny squeak, hands immediately moving back down, one shooting between her legs. Just like last time, she felt a dribbling, this one far more obvious as it soaked into her padding, warm and squishy and far harder to ignore.

"Uh-oh!" the witch chuckled. "Did you have an accident, sweetie?"

"N-No!" Maisie shook her head frantically, mortified that it had been so obvious. "N-No, of course not..."

"Aww, it's all right," the witch assured her. "Do you need me to tell your sitter for you?"

"N-No!" Maisie stomped her Mary Janes. "I-I didn't do anything!"

"If you say so," the witch winked. "You'd better let her know before you leak, though. I'd hate for you to ruin your costume."

Maisie took her candy and rushed away, cheeks burning. What was going on?! She couldn't believe she'd actually used her diaper, and almost immediately... That was so humiliating! Alexandra was never going to let her live this down if she found out!

"That wasn't so bad, was it?" her roommate asked, hand outstretched and waiting, as Maisie trudged down the sidewalk towards her.

Maisie whimpered, staring up at her, trying to gauge if she was teasing, if she'd overheard the conversation. It didn't appear she had, thankfully. "I-I guess not," she mumbled, taking her hand, letting herself be taken to the next house, feeling that quickly-cooling warm squishiness in her pants with every step.

It only got worse at the next house. She kept her head down, not wanting to get into another conversation, trying to get this over with, holding out her bag and immediately saying, "Trick or treat."

And, immediately, her bladder spasmed again, letting loose a trickle of pee, a bit longer this time. She managed to keep her hands still, keep from reaching down in shock, but she was certain the surprise, and disgust, showed on her face as she stared up at the couple she'd just peed her diaper in front of.

That was three times now... That couldn't be a coincidence! She didn't know how it was happening, or why, but there was no denying that it had to be connected with what she was saying.

She tried to test it at the next house, staying silent as she waited, bag open, batting her eyes... They didn't play along, however. "You have to say trick or treat," they prompted. "Come on, you can do that, can't you?"

She blushed, unhappy that they seemed to think there was any question, that she might be so young that she couldn't... And yet, maybe she could use that to her advantage. Bashfully, she shook her head. "Why don't you give it a try?" they suggested. "Trick or treat! It's okay if it doesn't come out perfectly! Just try."

There was no question, from the way they were cooing at her, from the tone of her voice, that they really did think she was a little girl, that her hesitance had probably only made her appear younger in their eyes. She caved, saying, "Trick or treat" and, again, wetting herself, a bit more this time. It was like each time her bladder muscles took a little longer to kick in, to remember what they were supposed to be doing...

Her diaper was starting to feel definitively soggy as she returned to Alexandra, in a way that was going to be very hard to explain if the girl happened to check her. As far as she could tell, though, Alexandra was oblivious, both to what she was saying to these people, and to what was going on in her pants when she did, so maybe she had a shot.

She hated that it was a man at the next house, not much older than her and handsome, but she knew she'd hate peeing herself in front of him even more, so she had to try. "Listen," she blurted out before he could say anything, "I don't want your candy. I need you to tell her," she nodded as inconspicuously back towards Alexandra as she could, "that you know I'm a big girl."

"What's that?" he chuckled. "Do you not like the candy I have?"

"No!" she rolled her eyes. "It's not that! I'm only doing this on a bet! I'm not a little girl, I'm in college, and you hafta tell my friend that you know that!"

"Ohh," he said at last. "I see. All right, then, come on."

Was that it? She felt a little bad, coming right out and saying it, but she was done with this... Gratefully, she led him down to Alexandra, waiting expectantly. "Wow," he spoke up, her hopes immediately crashing down at the broad tone he was using, at the wink she saw him giving Alexandra. "This is such a good college student costume you're wearing!"

"No, it's not a costume!" she whined, stomping her foot again. "I-I mean, it is, but it isn't..."

"Now, what do you say?" he asked her, dangling a fun-sized bag of candy in front of her.

She couldn't, not here, not right in front of Alexandra, and him. She gritted her teeth, shook her head. "Come on, Maisie Daisy," Alexandra teased, patting her on the bottom with a crinkle, Maisie flinching, praying she didn't notice how squishy the padding was. "We practiced this."

There was no getting around it, and trying to would only make it worse, only delay the inevitable. "Trick or treat," she said, her diaper warming, swelling... This time, to her horror, accompanied by a rumble in her tummy, distant, yet more haunting than any decorations or costume she'd seen so far.

It didn't matter what she said, or who she said it to... Nobody would take her seriously when she informed them she was in college. "That's adorable," one woman told her. "Did your babysitter help you think of that? It's a good way to get around forgetting to pick out a costume, huh? A college girl stuck trick or treating as a toddler... That's definitely original. You get an extra piece of candy for that... After you say it."

She also, unfortunately, couldn't get any of them to give up their candy without making her say, "Trick or treat." Her diaper was quickly getting soaked, filling up almost as fast as her treat bag, each time taking longer and longer to stop, with a discomfort growing in her stomach to remind her that something much worse could be coming if she kept this up.

It took her far too long to remember that she had her student ID with her, a piece of evidence to prove that what she was saying was true. It wasn't perfect, of course... Whoever she showed it to might assume it belonged to her big sister or something, especially since her hair was a different color now, but it was all she could think of, a last hope to keep from completely humiliating herself.

"You hafta believe me," she pleaded at the next house she stopped at. "I'm a grown-up! See?"

She handed over her ID nervously, squirming in place, noticing only then that her diaper was continuing to grow soggy, that she hadn't stopped dribbling since the last house she'd gone to. "S-See?!" she demanded. "I-I'm in college! I'm a big girl!"

"Yes," the woman told her. "I'm sure you're a very big girl compared to some of the students... But not big enough to be able to read yet, apparently." Maisie frowned, confused, as the woman put the ID card back into her hands. "You should probably give this to your babysitter, sweetie... You don't want to lose it."

"I-It says..." she protested, pointing down at the card, having seen it so many times that she knew where the name of the school was listed without having to look. When she did anyway, however, after seeing the look on the woman's face, she was horrified at what it said. "N-No, I don't go there!" she insisted. "I-I go to college, not daycare! I'm not a toddler!" That was exactly what the ID said, though, her school's colors around the border replaced by a cheery rainbow with a smiling sun in one corner.

"That's right," the woman said. "You're a big girl... And big girls know what to say for their candy, don't they?"

Maisie groaned, fidgeting in her drenched diaper. She glanced down at her bag, seeing that it was almost full, that, even if she lost the dare, she could put an end to this. One more time wouldn't hurt... Right? "Trick or treat."

As soon as the words had left her mouth, she knew it was a mistake. Her diaper began to crackle, a totally different kind of feeling beginning to spread through it. Despite what she'd been feeling, despite the soft grunting she could hear coming from her own mouth, it took her far too long to piece it together, even as her knees began to bend, taking her into a familiar squat. There was no way she could be doing this, after all... She was a college student, not a silly, diaper-filling toddler.

By the time the smell hit her, it was too late. She dropped her bag in a panic, clamping her hands down on her padded bottom, feeling the huge lump forming there, growing bigger and bigger, undeterred by her efforts to stop it. All she could think to do was to sit down quickly, groaning as the mess squelched beneath her, but even that wasn't enough to keep her from helplessly, and thoroughly, pooping her pants as she stared down at her diaper in disbelief.

She barely remembered Alexandra helping her to her feet, apologizing to the woman, picking up her bag and leading her back to the car, much less the drive back to college, or the trip to the bathroom, Alexandra washing the mess off of her and the color out of her hair before wrapping her in a towel, taking her back to their room and putting her into a fluffy, childish robe with a hood, complete with bunny ears and a fluffy tail on the back...

And a diaper.

"No!" Maisie whined. "I don't need another diaper!"

"Of course you do," Alexandra told her. "Did you already forget what you did to your last one?" Maisie blushed bright red, having hoped that, somehow, Alexandra had.

"I-I didn't mean to," she sniffed.

"Aww," Alexandra cooed, giving her a hug. "I know you didn't, sweetie. But that's what happens when you haven't been potty trained."

"Y-Yes, I have," Maisie sulked.

"No, not anymore," Alexandra said. "I'm afraid all of that has gone bye-bye now. I was going to give it back after I won, but now... I don't think so."

"Wh-What?" Maisie frowned. "Wh-What do you...?"

"I thought it would be a fun little addition to the dare," Alexandra told her. "I wasn't going to make you do too much... Some soggy panties would have been plenty to get you into character. And then you went and started cheating. Naughty, naughty girl... I'd say this is exactly what you deserve, young lady."

Maisie whimpered, squirming, feeling a wetness already starting to soak into her fresh diaper as Alexandra turned her around, made her sit in the corner for the rest of her Halloween, her only comfort as her reality began to sink in the single lollipop Alexandra let her have from her treat bag for the night.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Things only got worse for her the next day. She wasn't happy about the soaked diaper she woke up in, but it did make it hard to deny that she needed the new one Alexandra taped her into. She was even less pleased for her roommate to dress her in a pink shirt and jumper, or to style her hair into pigtails, or to push a plush pig into her arms and a pacifier into her mouth and lead her out of the room.

She was mortified, certain everyone on campus would laugh at her as soon as they saw her. Instead, they didn't seem to give her a second glance, taking her new style completely in stride, as if it was exactly what she ought to be wearing, which, in its own way, was almost worse.

Alexandra didn't take her to the cafeteria for breakfast, or even to her first class... She led her right off campus, right to a daycare, handing over the ID card to the worker at the front desk. "I'm going to have to keep a better eye on this," she chuckled. "She must have stolen it out of my purse and nearly lost it while we were out trick or treating last night."

Maisie whimpered behind her pacifier as she was led behind a baby gate, heart thumping as it was pulled shut, locked, uncertain if she'd be able to climb over it even if she could somehow keep all of the workers here from paying attention to her long enough to try it. "Alexandra!" she whined, reaching for her.

"It's all right, Maisie Daisy," the other girl smiled. "I'll pick you up in the afternoon, like always. Be a good girl until then, okay?"

She didn't have much of a choice in the matter... Try as she might, everyone here also laughed off her attempts to convince them she belonged in college, that she was a grown-up and not a toddler.

"I-I don't need these diapers," she told one. "I-It's just... I was trick or treating, and..."

"Of course," the worker smiled patiently at her. "Can you be a big girl and grab me one of those diapers?"

Maisie's eyes lit up, happy to help, to have a way to prove that she was a big girl, certain that if she kept this up, she'd show everyone how mature she was... Until she realized that the reason she was getting the diaper was so that she could be changed into it, when she'd had no idea she was that wet in the first place.

Original prompt: A cute short girl gets dared to go trick or treating dressed as a toddler. Everyone thinks she's actually a toddler though and doesn't believe her when she tries to convince them she's a college girl. And every time she says Trick or Treat her potty training gets worse.
