This was not, at all, how Holly had intended for any of this to go, what she'd had in her mind when she'd devised a way to get herself out of the nursery for a while. How in the world could she have, in well under twenty-four hours, landed herself right back in diapers?!

There had to be a way out of this, a way to outwit these maids... Unfortunately, after years of living under Mommy's care, she wasn't used to thinking that way, to trying to outsmart 'adults'. She wasn't used to seeing them as anything more than someone she had to obey no matter what, since she was just a silly baby compared to them...

Elizabeth, of course, was the exception, and even she had been something of an abstract concept for most of the time Holly had 'known' her, and thought about her this way. Holly knew she was real, obviously, but she stood in, in a way, for this infantilization she'd been put through as whole, considering she had, after all, been responsible for it. It was much easier to think of her - a distant figure she hadn't had to see in person - as the actual child, the one who deserved all this, rather than somebody she was visiting who could see that Holly was in diapers, being treated like a toddler.

It didn't hurt that Elizabeth had, in fact, been practically a child herself when Holly had spent the most time with her, when she'd kicked this all off. She tried not to think about that too often, because of the extra layer of embarrassment it brought... Not only had she let herself be tricked into switching places with someone, babified in their place, that person had been eighteen at the time. How had she ever been that stupid? Maybe she belonged here...

And that was the rabbit hole she found herself going down, if she put too much thought into this, into the history of her regression. It was difficult to maintain any sort of attitude that she ought to be seen as a fellow adult by her true peers when that was the case, especially when they had not just spotted her diapers, but put her in them.

It didn't matter that the maids were younger than her, physically... They were the grown-ups here, and she, as usual, was reverting automatically back to the mindset of a helpless little kid, wanting to do whatever it took to get on their good side, to make them believe she was a good girl so that they'd, perhaps, give her a treat, or at least not spank her again, or tell on her to her Mommy.

But she couldn't let that happen! She had to take back control, somehow, anyhow. This excursion was quite possibly only a very temporary thing, and there was no way she was going to squander it by allowing herself to be dominated by a couple housekeepers!

"Y-You can't..." she started to speak up, falling silent as Kristi and Paige fixed her with a pair of looks, one incredulous, one amused. Quickly, she backtracked. "I-I mean, I can't..."

What was she going to say? How was she going to get out of this?! She hadn't exactly had anything revolutionary in mind before, other than a whine about how they couldn't do this to her, a statement that almost never worked out anyway, but now that she was turning it around on herself, what was going to do the trick?

"I-I can't go out like this," she said after a moment.

"Well, we aren't going to make you do that," Paige chuckle, then glanced up at Kristi. "Right?"

Kristi rolled her eyes. "No, of course not. You'll get a fresh diaper when we're done cleaning up, and then you can put some pants or a skirt over it."

"A long skirt," Paige commented. "You know, unless you want people to see how you got spanked."

Holly blushed, reaching back to rub her bottom automatically, listening to her diaper crinkle. "I doubt she'd go too short either way," Kristi smirked. "As thick as these diapers are..."

A giggle erupted from Paige's mouth, her hands moving up to cover it as her face softened. "Aww, that would be so cute!" she exclaimed. "Her toddling around the hotel with her diaper peeking out..."

"No!" Holly squealed, hoping they wouldn't be able to magically tell, from her panic, that she was so dismayed by the thought because that was, indeed, how she spent so much of her time. "I-I can't," she repeated in response to their surprised expressions, Kristi's arched eyebrow. "I-I have to go... I-I have a big meeting..."

She was in a hotel, she'd had to remind herself, as if the fact she had maids wasn't enough of a tip-off. She was, presumably, here for a reason, which meant she could exploit that, use it to her advantage. The girls didn't know what had brought her into town - or, more crucially, that she actually lived here - so they didn't know she wasn't some high power, important businesswoman.

"A big meeting, huh?" Kristi replied skeptically.

"Y-Yeah!" Holly nodded. "It's, like... So huge!"

She had hoped, perhaps unreasonably, they would leave it at that, not make her clarify any further. It was, she admitted, a pretty generic defense, however, so she supposed it made sense they might want more details to buy into it. It was too bad, then, that it had been such a long time since she'd had to think about anything as grown-up as that, in any context. The intricacies of running - or working at - a business were not things that came up often in the cartoons Mommy approved of letting her watch.

"So huge?" Kristi parroted her, stepping in closer, Holly squirming, recognizing that she was losing her chance here, making it obvious she was spinning her wheels, lying off the top of her head. "Like the mess you made?" She gave the seat of Holly's diaper a pat, Holly's nose wrinkling.

"N-No!" Holly pouted, before meekly amending it to, "K-Kind of..." as Kristi gave the mushy mass a squeeze through the layers of padding.

"Must be very important then," Kristi quipped. "Why don't you tell us all about it?"

Not reacting was more challenging, in its own way, than improvising had been. She couldn't let them see how annoyed she was at being called out, how frantically she was searching the recesses of her mind for something, anything, to say that would satisfy the pair.

"Come on," Paige joined in. "If it's so important, you should know everything about it, right? You are prepared for it, aren't you?"

Kristi snorted. "Yeah, right. She wasn't even prepared to keep her bed dry."

Holly opened her mouth to dispute that, although she was far from upset to have Paige step in to answer for her, joking, "She was prepared. She had her diapers with her, she just didn't put them on."

"Oh, that's right," Kristi nodded. "And now, you aren't going to be taking them off, are you?"

"But I have to!" Holly whined. "This is a big, big client, and if my boss finds out I met with them in..." she blushed, shifting in place, playing up her embarrassment and praying she wasn't overdoing it, since she didn't want it to be too clear how used to them she was, "in diapers, I'll lose my job!"

"Maybe that's for the best," Kristi shrugged callously.

Holly's eyes widened; she hadn't anticipated that response, had assumed she'd garner at least a shred of sympathy. If that didn't do it, then what could she do? How could she pull it off? Most likely, she couldn't, and, ultimately, her time here was going to wind up only slightly different than if she'd stayed at home... Except now, she could look forward to getting in a ton of trouble when Mommy got home, for the one night of relative freedom she'd been able to enjoy.

"Hey." Holly was surprised at how gentle that was, at Paige stepping forward, giving her arm a rub. "It's okay..." Only then did Holly feel the tears trickling down her face. "She doesn't mean that."

"Why not?" Kristi demanded. "You have no idea what a spoiled Karen she's been from the moment she got here!"

"That doesn't mean she deserves to get fired," Paige replied. "She still has to make a living so she can pay rent, and buy food, and..."

"I'm sure she'll be fine," Kristi crossed her arms defiantly.

"Kristi!" Paige scolded. "Don't be ridiculous! It sucks that she was rude, and that she made so much extra work for you, but..."

Kristi rolled her eyes. "Maybe I shouldn't have told you about this in the first place, if you're going to take her side."

"I'm not taking her side!" Paige insisted. "I just don't want you to go too overboard, and do something that really hurts her..."

A shiver ran down Holly's spine as Kristi's gaze turned from her fellow housekeeper back to her, the feeling behind it clear as day. She definitely did want to really hurt Holly... Or, if not Holly, what she represented to her, all of her difficult guests, the ones who barely treated Kristi and the other workers there like humans, if they paid attention to them at all... Holly wished she could tell her that wasn't her, that she didn't do that, but she knew that would ring hollow now, unless she broke down and confessed the whole story, told them both who she actually was, how any lack of respect she might have shown was an over-correction from a decade of seeing any adult as practically a whole other species from her, gods and goddesses in comparison to the lowly worm of a baby she was...

"You're right," Kristi grumbled reluctantly. "I guess I don't want her to lose her job... Or she won't have any money to tip me for everything I've done for her."

A smile broke across Paige's face, tinged heavily with relief. "That's the spirit!" she encouraged her friend. "You can still have your fun with her while she's here at the hotel!"

Holly wanted to protest even that, but she was pushing it as it was. If she could convince them to let her wear anything other than diapers, that was enough of a win for the moment; she did, clearly, need her padding at night anyway, like it or not.

"Yeah," she said instead. "I-I promise, I'll do whatever you want when I'm here!"

"Anything, huh?" Kristi raised an eyebrow, immediately making Holly regret her words, wonder if she'd made a mistake. "We'll see about that..."

"So," Paige stepped between them, metaphorically if not physically, where she remained by the bed, next to the fresh linens they'd stacked up on the bedside table, the plastic sheet she'd brought right on top, "when is this meeting?"

"R-Right." In her panic, seeing how much disdain Kristi had for her and 'her kind', she'd almost forgotten what had brought them to this point. If she was going to stay true to her word - and she'd better, if she didn't want to earn any extra ire from Kristi - she'd have to have a good excuse for leaving the hotel, for making herself unavailable for following through on doing whatever the housekeeper wanted. Rehearsing for her silly little show didn't seem like it would make the cut.

"Like I said, it's an important client," she continued. "So, you know... It isn't actually just one meeting. If it goes well today, there will be more, maybe even... Every day?"

Was that stretching too far? She had no idea what she was doing, what would sound plausible. She hadn't before, and now that she was so worked up, things hadn't gotten any better on that front.

"Sure," Paige accepted it without any hesitation, thankfully. "But when? What time is it?"

Holly chuckled nervously, eyes darting around the room. Paige, intentionally or not, was standing in front of the alarm clock, blocking it from her view, so she had no idea what time it was, and she didn't see any other clocks in the room to help her. She wasn't certain when the maids would start cleaning the rooms, either, or how long it would have taken them to get to hers.

"This afternoon," she confessed, going off the actual schedule for rehearsals.

"You've got plenty of time, then!" Paige smiled.

"Perfect," Kristi agreed.

"D-Do you want me to clean the mattress?" Holly offered. She couldn't say she was excited about it, but it was only fair, and sounded like a good first step in showing her contrition.

"Oh, definitely not," Kristi denied her instantaneously. "This is far too big a job for you."

Holly blinked, nodded with an, "Oh." It made sense, she supposed, though it did feel a bit like being told she was too little for it, something her Mommy did all the time that never failed to remind her of her infantile status in the household. She fidgeted in her messy pants, any amount of pride she might have gathered from her 'victory' of not being fired from a fictional job slipping back through her fingers.

"And I don't have time, while I'm dealing with that, to supervise you with anything else," Kristi sniffed. "So, instead, I want you to gather up all of your diapers, and all your training pants, and any panties you might have, if you actually own any, and separate all of them by type for me. If you try to hide any..."

"I won't!" Holly promised. As simple as it was, she appreciated having a task, being able to do something, anything, other than return to the corner. And it was very easy, with her Pull-Ups and diapers mostly contained within the shopping bag, until she put them out on the desk.

"That's not all, is it?" Paige asked, seeing Holly step back and frown, feeling like she was missing something. "You didn't even open up your suitcase."

Of course! She'd almost forgotten about that... It wasn't really her bag, though the maids didn't know that, so it had slipped her mind. "I-I was taking a break," Holly said.

"She did so much already," Kristi mocked. "Those diapers must be so heavy!"

"Not those ones," Paige glanced at the desk. "She hasn't used them yet!"

"Just give her some time," Kristi smirked at Holly, who quickly got back to work, kneeling down in front of Elizabeth's suitcase and unzipping it, opening it up to dig through it. She felt a little pervy, searching for the other girl's underwear, handling it at all, flashing back to the awkwardness of Elizabeth teasing her, asking her if she was going to be okay with wearing this while their places were switched.

She could, technically, have done that, avoided the frustration of Elizabeth refusing to buy her the panties she'd picked out for herself. She was going to be borrowing Elizabeth's other clothes, after all. Sifting through them now, however, holding them in her hands as she set them next to her Pull-Ups and diapers, even beyond the weirdness of putting on someone else's underthings, she knew she wouldn't have been able to wear these things. They were so skimpy, so thin, so grown-up, the very opposite of what she'd been wearing for the past decade...

She wanted to spend this time as an adult, yes, to do whatever she could to feel what that was like again... This was way too much of a jump, though, too huge a transition between the massive bulk of her diapers to the scandalous, barely there garments Elizabeth had packed for herself. Perhaps Elizabeth had been on to something, going with those stupid pony panties...

The pony panties! She scurried off to the bathroom, wrinkling her nose as she looked to the bathtub, where she'd draped her jeans and panties after doing her best to wash them off in the bathtub, thanks to the accident she'd had in them. She whispered a little prayer to herself, reaching out, hoping they'd be dry by now, but, of course, they weren't.

She considered leaving them there, or trying to hide them... If Kristi found them, however, that would be bad, and Kristi was probably going to clean up the bathroom when she was done with the bed... And if anyone would know all of the hiding places in the room, it would be someone who worked for housekeeping. Holly wasn't going to be able to outsmart her, certainly not here, not like this...

So, reluctantly, she carried them out to the desk, too, dropping them in a damp heap beside the others. As childish and embarrassing as they were, had they not been wet, she still would have chosen them over any of the other alternatives laid out on the desk, most likely. They were the closest to what she was used to, offered the most protection, even if, as she'd learned the day before, it wasn't enough to keep her pants dry if she slipped up.

The housekeepers were, unsurprisingly, amused by what they saw on the desk. "What are these?" Paige giggled, poking at Elizabeth's panties. "Why would someone who still needs diapers buy all these?"

"I-I don't need diapers!" Holly pouted, the other two women's eyes immediately turning towards the bed they'd just finished dealing with. "N-Not during the day..."

"Then what are these?" Kristi, of course, had zeroed in on the pony undies.

"W-Well... I-I have been having some issues lately..." Holly shrugged uncomfortably. "Hence..." she gestured at the trainers. "It's pretty recent, and I-I was tired last night, so I thought maybe they'd be enough for overnight, too, and... They weren't."

"Gee, you think?" Kristi rolled her eyes.

"I'm sorry!" Holly told her. "I really am... I-I didn't mean..."

"It sounds like an honest mistake, Kristi," Paige took Holly's side.

Kristi scoffed, but she didn't fight it, didn't seem too unconvinced herself. "I'm still not going to trust you with these," she said after a moment, gathering up the dry panties and Pull-Ups and carrying them to the closet, where she shoved them into the safe. Paige's sympathies weren't enough to keep her from turning Holly away when she realized what was happening, keeping her from watching while Kristi set a combination, locking away everything thinner than a diaper. "I'll wash your little pony panties properly, too, and then put them with those," she promised when she was finished.

"B-But... What about my meeting?" Holly whined.

"It isn't until this afternoon," Kristi reminded her. "Paige or I will come back and get you a Pull-Up to wear by then, and let you get cleaned up. We'll have to finish making your bed after it dries, anyway, and put the rails on for you... And get you out of the corner." She grabbed the hard, wooden chair from in front of the desk and moved it, placing it right in the corner she'd made Holly stand in before Paige's arrival, giving the seat a pat.

Holly sighed, wanting to protest, yet biting her tongue, accepting that at least she wasn't going to have to stand there the whole time... Although, as she sat down, bottom sinking into the mush in her pants, it was difficult to say if that would have truly been better or worse.

"Good girl," Kristi patted her on the head. "You stay there and think about what you've done."

All Holly could think to do, to say, was a meek, "Yes, ma'am," as she felt herself slipping back into her usual time-time mode, her eyes turning towards the corner, thumb slipping into her mouth, not feeling one iota like the grown-up she was supposed to be getting to be during her time away from the nursery.
