"So," Hannah said, peering into the rear view mirror, "what is that all about?"

Sydney shifted in her seat, her diapers rustling. She hated how much she'd grown accustomed to them already, over one long weekend... It made her nervous about what was going to happen when she returned for Christmas. Of course, she hadn't had a choice in the matter, spending most of her time after her conversation with Monica trapped in her walker, with mittens on, and no way to get out to use the bathroom anywhere other than in her pants. Her first messy diaper had been humiliating, but it was nothing compared to doing that in her walker for the first time, and being left there, bouncing in it, while Monica and Heather chatted a few feet away on the sofa.

"I thought it would be good for the plan," Sydney shrugged sheepishly. "Having to go all the way downstairs just makes it that much more difficult."

"The plan," Hannah raised an eyebrow. "I was starting to wonder if you even remembered that... Did you have any time at all to case the joint?"

"A-A little," Syd pouted.

Hannah softened. "You did do a fantastic job of convincing everyone that you are a baby, though, so I guess that's a start."

Sydney blushed, wriggling again. "I didn't convince you, did I?" she asked. "Can we stop somewhere and get me out of this stupid diaper?"

"When we need gas," Hannah replied. "If you're going to be letting Monica take care of you next time, you might as well get used to being in them all the time, because there aren't going to be any breaks..."

"I know!" Syd snapped. "What was I supposed to do? I could tell that's what she wanted me to say! I was afraid if I didn't, she'd be upset at me!"

"No, you probably made the right choice," Hannah admitted. "I'm just warning you, that's what's going to happen."

"I-I know," Syd gulped. "But, if that's what it takes..."

Sydney's bladder wasn't huge, though it was bigger than the average little's, in her experience. She didn't often have to excuse herself in the middle of class, and hope the professor didn't snap at her and force her to stay, nor did she do so in movies, or on long car rides. She would have to ask to stop now and then, if she was riding with all Amazons, or a 'tweener with a particularly large bladder, and a desire to 'prove' Syd was more of a baby by waiting it out and making her ask to stop first; usually, she could wait for someone else happened to need to go. Today, however, was a different story. It was that bottle Monica had insisted on feeding her before she let them leave, she reasoned, nothing more, that was making her so uncomfortable so soon, yet she was still confident she could make it...

Until she heard Hannah's phone beep, and warn them about an impending traffic jam. Syd let out an involuntary groan, ready now to give in, to ask for a stop early, but, by then, she could already see the cars lined up in the distance, and the fact that there were no exits before then. "It's not that big a deal," Hannah brushed her off. "We have plenty of time to get back to campus."

They had left sooner than Syd had expected, either so they could get away from Monica, or, as Hannah had claimed, because, as an RA, she was supposed to be back before the rest of her students. Syd had hoped that would help them avoid the worst of the traffic; obviously, she was wrong. She wiggled and fidgeted in the back seat, bladder feeling more and more full with every long, passing second. There was no point saying anything, complaining to Hannah, not when there was clearly nothing she could do about it.

It was only slightly a surprise when the padding beneath her began to grow softer, warmer, squishier. She was embarrassed, certainly, while, simultaneously, glad she was still in diapers after all, or things might have gotten very awkward between her and Hannah.

They did anyway, to a degree, when they finally got free from the traffic jam, and Hannah pulled into a rest stop, plucking the diaper bag she'd slid Syd's real clothes into. Unfortunately, she had to untape the diaper for Syd, so, when she lifted the girl's skirt, there was no way for her to miss how soggy it was. "Seriously, Syd?" she sighed.

"I-It was the traffic!" Syd whined. "It isn't my fault!"

"Well, you aren't getting back in my car without a diaper on now," Hannah informed her. "Hold on, I'll change you after I pee."

"Hannah!" Sydney stomped her foot. "It won't happen again!"

"You don't know that," Hannah pointed out. "What if there's another jam? Better safe than sorry."

Syd was not at all happy about it, but she couldn't do much to argue against it, not when she hadn't even confessed to Hannah how much of an accident it had been, how little control she'd had over it. Luckily, despite all that, they still got back to campus when it was mostly empty, so she didn't think anyone noticed the extra bulk under her skirt, or the waddle to her step.

She was, however, less fortunate in the coming weeks, as finals loomed, facing her with plenty of late night study sessions. It had to be the lack of sleep and the stress that was doing it, as weird as that was considering she'd never had this problem in past semesters... She found wet spots in her panties more than once, though, to her horror, and the prospect of that, or worse, happening during finals themselves was enough to convince her, begrudgingly, to buy a pack of trainers. Her only real comfort during it was thinking of the song from her walker, letting it play through her mind, soothing her, even if it did seem like her accidents happened more often afterwards...

They had to wait for everyone else on the hall to leave before they could, so Syd at least didn't have to worry about remembering to change out of her training panties into real ones before she went to the other girl's room, once again arriving with no luggage of her own. "It's weird," she commented, "knowing we're the only ones here."

"Yeah, it's a bit spooky, right?" Hannah asked. "Now, then, let's get you changed."

"Wait, what?" Sydney blinked. "W-We're not waiting and doing it at a gas station or something?"

"Nope," Hannah snapped open a diaper, laying it out on her bed. "Not after you peed yourself in my car last time."

"It was the traffic jam!" Syd glowered.

"And we're going to be there longer," Hannah reminded her. "There's more of a risk of Monica somehow finding your grown-up stuff and asking questions. It's better to leave it all here."

"B-But..." Sydney stammered, searching desperately for another excuse, something to get her out of this. "If you leave it in the car..."

"Syd," Hannah rolled her eyes. "We're the only ones here. Nobody is going to know."

Sydney groaned, stomping her foot in frustration... And then, reluctantly, starting to get undressed, not wanting Hannah to do it, desperate to hold onto some bit of her own adulthood before going back to toddlerhood for the next couple weeks. She'd been counting on a couple more hours of it... After the embarrassment of finals week, and spending so much of it in trainers, it was quite the disappointment to not get that, to wind up right back in diapers.

She sulked about that for a while, until, nearly to Monica's house, she thought of something else. "I, uh... I didn't get anyone presents," she told Hannah. "Should I have done that? If you're supposedly going to adopt me, wouldn't it make sense for me to have something for my new family?"

"Nah," Hannah shrugged. "I don't think they're expecting much from a baby. Maybe you could find some time to color something for them or whatever."

She might have a point... Making something would, perhaps, give her a reason to get out of her walker for a while, and hopefully Monica would let her do it on her own, or with Hannah watching her, so she was able to use that time more wisely. Or, if Monica didn't trust her, she could be forced to actually follow through, to do arts and crafts in character, under the older woman's direct observation.

It was something to consider, at least. She was still pondering it when they arrived at Monica's house, and she was ushered inside to give her a big hug and kiss before she was dropped into her walker while the grown-ups unpacked the car. Syd couldn't resist hitting the button, playing the song again, the tune even nicer now, after having had to rely on her memory of it between breaks, smiling to herself as she stared up at the huge Christmas tree now sitting in the living room, and the pile of presents underneath, and the decorations all over the walls.

"Well, then, Syd," Monica said once they were finished with the car, "have you been a good girl?"

"Uh-huh," Sydney nodded.

Monica arched her eyebrow. "Are you sure?" she asked. "Santa is always watching, you know, and lying about being a bad girl is just adding on, making anything naughty you did that much worse... You don't want to risk that this close to Christmas!"

"I have!" Syd pouted.

"She has," Hannah backed her up. "She's kept her hands out of her diapers and everything."

Sydney blushed, having almost forgotten about that, although, now, she noticed the mittens sitting on the coffee table, waiting, no doubt the real reason Monica had asked the question.

"I'm so proud of you!" Monica beamed. "And don't worry, now that you're staying downstairs with me, I made sure I have all the doors closed, so you don't get tempted to go wandering again."

Syd did her best to hide her disappointment. She was going to have to do everything she could to stay out of both the mittens and her walker if she wanted to do anything...

"That's probably a good idea, Aunt Monica," Heather told her, Syd shooting her a slight scowl to show her disapproval, though she knew the bigger girl was likely saying it only to appease her aunt. "I think for now, she should get to bed."

"You're right," Monica agreed. "Come here, Syd!" She plucked Sydney out of the walker, then hesitated. "Or do you want to do it?" she offered to Hannah. "Sorry, I assumed after the drive, you'd be tired."

"I am," Hannah said. "You go ahead. I'll see you in the morning, sweetie!" She gave Sydney a kiss on the forehead, then let her be taken off, glad now she hadn't asked Hannah to change her after the last time she'd used her diaper. It would be fishy for her to show up dry after both car rides here, after all...

The nursery had been decorated for Christmas, too, with tinsel and oversized candy canes hanging on the walls, and twinkling lights strung up just under the ceiling. "Wow," she looked around at it, only partially for show.

Monica smiled. "I'm glad you like it, dear." She set Syd down on the changing table, and, as she began grabbing supplies for the change, Sydney took a better look at the room. The crib was definitely big, probably overkill for her... If she was careful, however, she might be able to scale the bars, get over the top... Or, she could try asking Hannah to say goodnight to her after Monica one night, and lower the side for her. It would be easier, certainly, though all it would take was Monica peeking in on her and spotting it for her to fix it, and wonder why it had been left down in the first place.

"Hmm," Monica paused. "I forgot to ask your Mommy... How much protection do you need at night?"

"H-Huh?" Syd blinked up at her.

Monica chuckled, speaking more slowly and clearly, like she was talking to a young child, which only made it more embarrassing. "Does your Mommy keep you in one diaper at night, or do you need two?"

There was no option to go without a diaper, of course... As much as Syd would have liked to go with that, she knew she couldn't have anyway. Realistically, two probably made more sense, considering, as far as Monica knew, Sydney was fully dependent on diapers, and she wanted to maintain her cover... That would make getting out of the crib even harder, not to mention getting around the house if she managed that... And she'd have to use them enough to justify it, or Monica might get suspicious, or assume she was dehydrated...

"You can count to two, right?" Monica cooed, holding up her hand, raising one finger, then another. "See, this is one, and this is two! Now, how many diapers do you wear to bed, sweetie?"

What should Syd say?

One?

Or two?

Should Syd...

Try to climb out of the crib tonight?

Or wait and ask Hannah to help her the next night?

And should Syd ask about making presents for the family in the morning?

Yes?

Or no?
