A cross-over short story commission to blend together The Swimming School and Candie's Kitchen, commissioned by an anonymous Patron.

"Hi, there, everyone!" the woman exclaimed, her voice bubbly and excited. "Welcome to Candie's Kitchen!" She waved to the camera with both hands, then lowered them, swinging them in front of her puffy skirt, the blue fabric rippling, making the fish patches stitched onto it almost look as if they were swimming. "In case you couldn't guess, our theme today is... the ocean! And we have some very special guests to help us out!"

Wade hadn't realized how entranced he was, watching the whole thing, until Shelli gave him a little push, sending him toddling over next to Candie, who took his hand, yanking him the rest of the way.

There was a part of him that wasn't quite sure why he was nervous... Shelli had been keeping him in diapers for quite a while at this point, her prediction at the end of his last birthday party proving true - Wade did, in fact, fit into Pampers, and Shelli and her friends had thought he was so cute in them that he spent most of his time in them, with Shelli also buying him lots of t-shirts with sharks and octopi on them, sailor suits, shortalls with anchors embroidered onto the front pocket...

He was, therefore, pretty used to the idea of being made to dress up in childish, aquatic themed, outfits... And that wasn't even counting all the time he'd spent getting swimming lessons from Shelli, when she'd just been his crush, and swimming teacher, before she'd decided that what he really needed her to be was his Mommy.

He had no idea how Shelli had found Candie's Kitchen, what had prompted her to start watching it, but it was something they'd enjoyed together ever since she had, usually putting it on while they ate, though neither of them ever cooked anything as fancy as what Candie generally made.

He also had no idea that the show was made so close to where they lived, or, when Shelli had told him that morning that she had a surprise for him, that this would be what it was. It had been so surreal, walking into the studio, seeing her there in the flesh, having her kneel down and give him a big hug, while he squirmed, face red, feeling his diaper warm at the excitement... And the fear that Candie would notice the padding beneath his shorts.

"Just look at you two!" Candie had beamed, stepping back. "So precious! Now, Wade, Shelli here tells me you love to swim?"

"Umm... Y-Yeah," Wade nodded. 'Love' might have been a strong word... He had liked having the swimming lessons to give him an excuse to spend time with Shelli, and he'd learned to enjoy the pool, rather than feeling afraid of the water, but love? That might be pushing it a bit.

"Great!" Candie had said, giving Shelli a wink. "That means I picked the right thing to make! And the right outfit! Shelli, why don't you take him to the dressing room over there and help him into his wardrobe? I'm sure he needs a change by now anyway."

The two women shared a chuckle while Wade blush, tugging at his starfish shirt, worried, at first, that his diaper had been obvious after all, though, as Shelli took him by the hand, leading him to the room, he reasoned that, since it appeared Shelli and Candie had been talking, Shelli must have mentioned it to her already... And, when he saw his costume, he realized it would have been strange if Candie hadn't known he was diapered.

He always tried to be good for his Mommy, and they were both so thrilled to be on the show, and he didn't want to ruin it, that he didn't put up too much of a fight, despite how humiliating it was. It wasn't that different from some of the things Shelli made him wear normally, so it wasn't until he was in front of the camera, thinking about all the people that would see him on the show, that it fully sank in.

Candie had, of course, been right, a fact that Shelli had teased him with as she changed him into a fresh diaper. He didn't get pants to go over it, however... He got a swim diaper. "Why do I need two diapers?" he'd whined.

"Extra protection," Shelli had answered. "Making a show like this is hard work... Candie doesn't have time to stop so you can get changed every five minutes, silly."

The swim diaper also seemed to fit the theme of the rest of his 'outfit', Shelli tying a large, blue plastic bib around his neck, dotted with multi-colored fish, having him step into a pair of flip-flops, and finishing it all off with a pair of yellow water wings.

"Say hello, Wade!" Candie smiled into the camera, forcing Wade to move one of his hands from in front of his diaper to wave, too. "Aww, he's a little shy," Candie said. "That's okay, though! He brought his Mommy to speak for him! Hi, Shelli!"

Shelli had fared a bit better when it came to costumes. Sailor dresses were something Wade didn't often see anyone over the age of four wearing, but Shelli made it look pretty good, as she did for everything. It was navy, with white stripes around the hem, sleeves, and collar, and a red ribbon in the center of the chest, with a matching beret perched jauntily on her head. "Hello!" she grinned, hopping into frame, a natural.

The two of them chatted like old pros as they began to mix together a cake, Wade watching them in fascination, and occasionally being sent off to fetch something from another counter. He heard them giggling to one another when he did, feeling self-conscious about the waddle his doubled diaper gave him, yet aware there wasn't much he could do about it... Or to keep any of the audience from spotting it. He really did feel like a little boy, 'helping' out his Mommy and one of her friends in the kitchen.

Candie poured the batter into a pair of pans, looking down at Wade. "Do you want to help out some more, Wade?"

He nodded, ready to prove that he was more than a baby. "Uh-huh!" He reached for the pans, sure she wanted him to put them into the oven for her.

"No, no," she shook her head, gently swatting his hand away. "That's much too risky... We don't want you to accidentally drop anything, or burn yourself. I need you to clean this up for me! Can you do that?" She handed him to mixing bowl, lifting up the spatula to land the perfect dot of batter on the tip of his nose, the two women chuckling as he stared at it, eyes crossing slightly.

"Now, then," Candie said, as Wade licked at the batter, "I bet you're all confused now, huh? I said the theme was the ocean, and we're all dressed for that, but I just made a normal cake, huh?"

"You made it blue," Wade piped up helpfully. "That's like the ocean!"

"Yes, it is," Candie beamed, patting him on the head. "Very good! But that's not quite enough, is it? So, how are we going to make it fit the theme even better?"

Wade fidgeted, realizing that, since he'd spoken up, the focus was now on him. Perhaps it would have been anyway, though now he'd guaranteed it. He blushed, feeling another anxious dribble in his pants. "I-I dunno," he shrugged.

"Sure you do!" Shelli told him. "What does Candie always do, silly?"

There were plenty of answers to that, but, after a moment of contemplation, the correct one became obvious. "Decorate!" he squealed.

"That's right!" Candie praised him. "I'm going to show you how to make the perfect blue for your frosting!"

"But first, if you're done with this," Shelli said, taking the mixing bowl from Wade, "let's get you cleaned up! It's a good thing you're wearing that bib!" She set the bowl down, picking up a washcloth to wipe away a few stray drips of batter.

"Oh, I wouldn't worry too much about that yet," Candie smirked. "He still has plenty of chances to get messy again... And I don't think you have much room to fuss at him, young lady."

Wade had a giggle of his own, seeing Shelli taken aback for a second at the way Candie had spoken to her, the woman stepping over, running her finger over the ribbon on Shelli's dress, lifting it up to show the camera a smear of batter. "Unless, of course, you need a bib, too," she teased. "And maybe some other parts of his wardrobe?"

Shelli's face turned pink as she squirmed in place, her eyes turning away from Candie, only to land right on Wade and his padded bottom, making the threat even more embarrassing. "I-I didn't..." she stammered.

"It's all right if my little helpers get messy," Candie stepped in after letting Shelli struggle for a minute. "That's just a part of cooking!"

"Y-You're right," Shelli nodded quickly.

Candie smiled at her knowingly, then went back to the frosting as if nothing had happened. She really did know how to make the perfect shade, and once she had it on the cake, she began to add all sorts of fish and other sea creatures to it, crafting them all by hand, Wade marveling at her talent, glad she wasn't asking him to try his hand at it, because he knew he couldn't do anything close to that. He was much better suited to smashing up the graham crackers she gave him so Shelli could sprinkle the crumbs around the edge of the plate to look like sand.

Shelli did let him add some white to the waves she crafted in frosting on the top of the cake, lifting him up so he could nervously reach high enough to dot plain frosting along the peaks she'd already formed.

"I'd say that's just about done!" Candie declared. "Why don't you get Wade ready to taste it?"

Shelli took Wade by the hand, leading him over to an inflatable wading pool in another corner of the studio, filled with sand, and dotted with a few large, decorative shells. Shelli sat him down in the middle, adjusting his bib, while Candie cut a nice, big slice of the cake. She carried it over and set it in front of him.

"N-No fork?" he nibbled his lip, staring up at her.

"That's why you have a bib," she pointed out. After seeing how easily she'd been able to put even his Mommy in her place with a few words, he didn't dare protest, knowing he wouldn't stand a chance. He reached over, blushing as he felt his fingers sink into the soft cake and the sticky frosting, ready to start eating it like a toddler when he saw it.

He picked it up, looking wide-eyed at Candie, who nodded at Shelli with a bemused smile. "This is why I got us onto the show," Shelli told him, taking the ring gently out of his hand, only to offer it back to him. "What do you say, Wade? Will you marry me?"

dang I remember the swimming school story sounds like we missed out on a potentially great sequel. Still enjoyed this story too!
