Instantly, she could tell this was no small indie title... The graphics were far too good for that. If she didn't know any better, she'd think it was a video feed, coming live from... What was this place? It looked, weirdly enough, like a nursery, of all things, not at all what she would have expected. It still could have been a horror game - she seemed to remember seeing her boyfriend play one where he was a toddler, running around with a talking teddy bear - but it looked different from any of those she'd ever seen.

Everything was pastel, and pleasant, and serene; she could practically smell the baby powder in the air. She was surrounded by crib bars, though not close enough to give her a sense of claustrophobia. There was a teddy bear, which would have worried her if she wasn't already positive this wasn't the same game she'd seen her boyfriend playing - that hadn't looked anywhere near as realistic as this - that looked huge, and friendly.

Then again, she was obviously playing a baby, so just because it seemed large didn't mean it was actually meant to be that big. She could hear some cute baby babble in the background, mostly because there was no music, or anything else to mask it. She moved the control stick, getting more of a sense of her environment, seeing a high chair beyond the crib, a toy box, a changing table... Was all that meant to be background, or was her goal somewhere out there? Was she missing something in the crib itself?

She tilted the stick downwards, turning her avatar's head towards the crib mattress, a little surprised when she also saw the body of her character. She rolled her eyes, muttering, "Come on," at the realization that, despite the fact she was clearly playing as a baby, the programmers hadn't been able to resist giving her breasts. After all the work they'd put into the nursery, they hadn't bothered to make the character model look like a child? They'd at least dressed her in a pretty cute diaper - not like any baby diaper she'd ever seen, although that was likely a copyright issue - and socks, but the shirt seemed pretty plain.

Even more strange than the apparent age of this 'baby' was the fact that it was holding a game system of its own in its hands. Janie couldn't quite make out what the game on the screen was, but it was certainly a unusual detail... Why not a rattle, or something more appropriate for a baby? Was that where the actual game was? Was this whole thing just a backdrop? It seemed very meta, and very weird, not at all like what she'd think would appeal to the average gamer. She tried to use the console, though the most she could figure out was how to make the baby stick it in its mouth.

She started moving the other stick around, finally actually moving the avatar. Even if they'd, for whatever reason, made the character look much older than it should have, they had paid enough attention to detail to make a crinkling noise happen as it crawled, earning a smile from Janie. Unfortunately, it didn't last long... Almost instantly, she was stuck. There was no way out of the crib she could see, nothing in there other than toys, blankets, pillows... She tilted the stick towards the bear, thinking she could climb up it, but instead, her character climbed onto the leg and stopped there.

Maybe climbing required another button... Or maybe she was right, and she was supposed to lift the avatar's hands to play the game it was holding. But how did she do either? She waited for a prompt onscreen to tell her which one, even tried to pause the game and see if there were instructions there, but her start button did nothing. Squinting past the bars, she thought she saw a slight glow around the doorknob of the door in the distance, making her think she needed to get there... But how?

Frustrated, she began pushing everything randomly, just wanting to make something happen. And it did, although not what she'd expected... All of the sudden, her camera began to move again, the character's head tilting downwards, at its own crotch. For a moment, Janie didn't know why, then, after a few seconds, she noticed something creeping upwards on the garment, a stain, growing from the crotch up the front…

Was the baby actually wetting itself?! What an odd thing to program into the game... And it didn't stop there. She watched the character's free hand move into view, pawing at the wet spot, before the screen began to shake slightly, and she heard the sound of crying. Just like the avatar looked, it sounded more like an adult than a baby, to the point where Janie had to wonder if it was intentional.

"Hold on, baby, Mommy's coming!" a voice called from the distance. Was that what she was supposed to do?! Or had she messed up?! Janie searched the screen for timer, for directions, for anything, before resorting, once more, to trying everything. This time, after crawling closer to the bars, she managed to find the right button to pull herself up onto her feet, allowing her to walk over to where she could see the latch holding the side of the crib up.

The whole time, her character was still crying, and every few seconds, the Mommy character would say something new, like, "I'm almost there!" or "It's all right, sweetie!", each one a bit louder, a little closer. Finally, just as Janie thought she was getting the hang of this, watching her avatar's hands undo the latch to make the crib wall slide down, the nursery door opened, a young woman stepping in and shaking her head. "What do you think you're doing?!" she asked, hands on her hips. "I think somebody needs a spanking..."
