"Perfect for what?" he demanded. "Mrs. Avery didn't tell me anything, and..."

"Well, good, she wasn't supposed to," Ms. Talbot nodded. "I was going to introduce you a little more gradually, but since you're so curious, we can just jump right in. Come along..." She took his hand, helping him up from the couch.

He felt so small next to her, her hand engulfing his. He'd always been short, though it had never bothered him all that much, other than those times when he'd tried to find dates to school dances, and always wound up with girls taller than him; now, holding that silly elephant, he felt practically tiny.

"Go on, give your little friend there a hug," she urged, seeing the toy hanging listlessly by his side. "It might help..." She had stopped in front of a door, and wouldn't open it until he lifted the stuffed animal to his chest, squeezing it there. She nodded, smiled, and turned the doorknob.

On the other side was a nursery. For a moment, he thought that maybe she needed him to set up some piece of baby furniture for her... But just a moment, until several things occurred to him: One, that she wasn't pregnant, two, that there already seemed to be everything a child could possibly need here, and, most importantly, three, everything was far bigger than it should have been. It wasn't sized for an infant... It was almost as if it were the right size for...

"Wh-What is this?" he gulped, looking around, trying to take a step back, only to be stopped by her grip, tighter now, though not painful, just hard enough to keep him from getting away.

"Oh, I think you know," she replied. "Why don't you tell me?"

"I-It's a n-nursery..." he answered, unconsciously hugging his elephant tighter.

"Very good!" she grinned. "And whose nursery do you think it is?"

From the way she was staring at him, he knew what she wanted to hear, no matter how insane it was. He could bring himself to actually say it, though, so, instead, he stammered, "W-Well, it's in your house, so, I-I guess it's yours?"

She laughed, kneeling down in front of him. "That's technically true, I guess... But, really, it's all yours." She took him by surprise, reaching out with her free hand to give him tummy a tickle, making him giggle before he could stop himself. "What do you think about that, sweetie? Do you like it?"

"I-I'm not a baby," he protested, nibbling nervously on his bottom lip. "I don't need..."

"We'll see about that," she smirked. "Come on, let me show you around... But, first, we'd better get you dressed properly."

If there had been any doubt about what that meant, it was shattered when she led him to the changing table, 'helping' him up onto it as he whined, strapping him down and starting to remove his pants. "Go on, hug your little elephant," she urged. "It'll be over in just a minute... He'll make you feel better."

Sure enough, she wasted no time in getting his pants, and then his boxers, off, replacing them with a crinkling, heavily padded diaper. It was so big, and thick, and babyish, the latter helped along by the pattern of alphabet blocks along the front. Once she'd unstrapped him and replaced his button-up with a blue t-shirt, it was hard to deny it when she led him to a mirror and said, "That certainly looks like a baby to me."

He followed behind, waddling in stunned silence as she showed him around the room, letting him see the crib, the playpen, the baby toys, the high chair... Everything a baby could need, if they also happened to be a grown man, like him. It was all pretty overwhelming, which Ms. Talbot seemed to recognize, since, after the tour, she led him back out to the living room.

This time, however, she sat him down in front of the couch, instead of on it. "Furniture is for grown-ups," she told him when he tried to climb onto it.

He blushed as he realized why, especially because he really did need to go, and he wasn't sure if the woman had somehow figured that out, and that was the reason she'd said that. "Ummm," he fidgeted, "C-Can I...?"

"No," she shook her head, shutting him down before he could even ask, pulling out a pacifier. "I'm the grown-up here, young man, and I have some things I need to say without getting interrupted. Suck quietly on this, and when I take it out, then you can say whatever you need to, okay?"

Eli wasn't sure he'd be able to wait that long, but he also didn't seem to have much of a choice, so, as she bent down, holding the pacifier out, he opened his mouth with a sigh, letting her complete the image of him as a big baby.
