"Is everything all right? I came as quickly as I could... Are you feeling okay, sweetie?

"Oh, is that all? That's a relief! The poor little thing... I've told you, darling, you can't just sit around in your wet diapers all day, you have to come see the nice nurse, here, to change you, or this will only keep happening! You're lucky I wasn't busy today, or she might have sent you back to class in just your shirt and diaper! 

"I agree, it is a problem... I'm sure she's already apologized to you for causing you so much trouble, hasn't she? No? Well, what are you waiting for, young lady? Come on... You're old enough to know your actions have consequences. I'm not joking... Or does somebody want to be punished after school today? Good girl. I expect you to apologize to the custodian, too... I'm sure he's getting tired of cleaning up your puddles. 

"Do you have any suggestions? I just don't know what to do with her... She refuses to try potty training, for some reason, and... Oh, listen to her. She has such a big imagination, doesn't she? Of course it's my fault she has to wear those diapers... Yes, dear, we all know you're an adult, don't we? Such a mature, powerful lawyer, sitting here in her school nurse's office in her diaper, waiting for a fresh skirt... 

"Okay, that's enough.... Hush up, now, the adults are talking. Young lady, you stop that right now! If you want to use your feet so badly, you can use them to march over to that corner! Yes, I'm serious... I'm trying to have a conversation with your nurse, and we can't do that with you whining and stamping about like that. Right now, little girl, or you're really going to regret it when that bus drops you off this afternoon... Thank you.

"Yes, I've heard of that reform school... I'd hate to have to send her there, because she really is a good girl, but if it comes to that... Well, I've considered it. I certainly think it could help... It really does take some physical persuasion to get her to behave at times, and I understand that's something they can do there that you can't really here... I suppose we'll see where she is at the end of this school year, and, if things haven't improved, well...

"Oh, my... Is this really her file? I knew she was having trouble in her classes, but I hadn't realized... Some of her teachers have spoken to me, I just didn't think it was this bad. She's always considered herself mature for her age - amusing, I know - so she's had trouble fitting in, and participating as part of a group, for quite a while... 

"We always knew the truth was that she was overcompensating because she had trouble with the work. I always go over her homework with her as much as I can, but looking at this, it either does her no good, or she's just so stubborn, she refuses to engage with the rest of her class... Yes, I'm sure you're right, I would be shy if I had to wear diapers at her age, too; that's no excuse for just not doing her classwork, though.

"I'm sure you're right... If this keeps up, I have no doubt I'll be having a conversation with her teachers soon. I guess it'll be up to her whether she wants to shape up and prove she deserves to stay in this grade, or if we should take her back a grade or two to see if that helps. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt her to brush up again... And, if that doesn't help, either, I guess we'll have to try out that reform school. They sound very harsh, and strict, but if regular school isn't working for her, that might be the best thing for her. If she can't prove to me, and her teachers, that she doesn't belong there, then I'm afraid we might not have a choice.

"Yes, thank you for bringing that to my attention... You've always been so good at looking after her. As for her little problem... I think we put too much trust in her. Which do you think is best - should we just keep her double diapered, to ensure she couldn't possibly leak before realizing she's wet, or should we make sure she visits you between every class to see what condition she's in? 

"I'd hate to put all that extra work on you, especially since I'm sure she'd try to duck out of her appointments when she thinks she doesn't need them, so you'd have to either go and find her, or make an announcement over the PA... I'm sure she wouldn't like either of those, since I have no doubt her classmates would know exactly why she needs to see you so often. Then again, she's already taking up so much of your shelf space in here with her diapers... Making her wear two at a time would require you to keep even more of them on hand...

"What do you think you're doing out of the corner, young lady? No, you've had your chance to make things work like this, and you've proven that you aren't ready. This doesn't concern you right now... You'll know what we decide when we your time out is over, and the nice nurse here changes your wet diaper - do you even realize how much you've already soaked it? - and either puts you in one, and tells you exactly when you'll be coming back to her office, whether you think you need to or not, or puts you in two, and hopes the skirt I brought will cover that much padding. 

"There, that's better. Yes, I know that pacifier isn't good for her teeth, but she'll probably needs braces, anyway, and, honestly, it's the only thing that will shut her up sometimes. Now, back to your corner, little lady. We've heard quite enough out of you already."
