This week I ended up spending on writing and posing all the animations for a fairly big lewd scene. I'm up to 6 completed lewd scenes in terms of animations, with more to come. I tried a few new techniques and made a couple of animations I cannot wait to see produced.

Several animations were longer than usual, one of which took me a full day to pose and ended up being 42 seconds long. I'm trying to make new kinds of animations, pushing myself, and exploring to learn.

I now have a big queue with 44 animations waiting to render. Due to the length of the animations, I estimate that queue alone frees up close to 4-6 weeks to do other activities while rendering at max capacity.

I will stop working on art for now and write dialogue next week. My next goal is to have enough dialogue written to be able to work continuously on static renders for a long time.

May is around the corner, and I'll post the Special render poll for Jill vs. Bella to decide who gets a special render set in episode 9. I also hope to post a cosmetic poll sometime in May, but I've yet to decide which girl gets the honor for this special Halloween episode.

Sooooo... anyone else thinking about Leah making an appearance? This should be the same Halloween party she mentioned in Acting Lessons. Should be a fun lewd scene and a little fucked up. I wonder if Jonas/Liam will make an appearance as well

The discord has a command about that: Acting Lessons and Being A DIK are two separate games without any connection. Being A DIK was originally intended to be a prequel to Acting Lessons, but the idea was scrapped since it would force Dr PinkCake to write the story in a certain way. You can still see common names in Being A DIK, that were mentioned in Acting Lessons, i.e. DIKs, HOTs, Roy = Troy.

Awesome work DPC. Keep it up, but don't forget to take those breaks as well. :P Wish I could help with some part of the process, but you already have a proofreader and it sounds like you have lots of computer resources, so I guess I'll stick to giving you money. :P

Just reading that and seeing how long those render times are, is mindblowing to me

Yes. Render times are ridiculously long if you want to make renders/animations of my quality. Animations are the time sink. For example, that 42-second long animation I mentioned needs the same time as rendering 1260 static renders (normal pictures in the game).

A master at story telling that en captures you and leaves you wanting to find out what happens next. Being a dik is an experience not a game and Doc i wish you all the success, your writing is amazing and you can tell its not lazy and well thought out. amazing job. ~ a random guy that appreciates your hard work.

Love your work but ease up on the mini games. Spend all your time getting the base game out. I've played 1-8 with minigames and without and without is far, far superior.

If you're going to turn off minigames then why advocate for less minigames? If anything, there should be more for the people that like them. Advocating for less when yours are off is just ruining it for the rest of us.

Out of sheer curiosity, how long does it take you at this point to do a static render? I figure that because you have experience and probably preexisting models and such to use, it's going to be less than someone picking it up off the street, but still, it must be an incredible amount of time.

I have mixed feelings about the mini games... I enjoyed the mansion repair and most of the others (could do with less words to unscramble), but I really got tired of the free roams. Just too many of them.

Just because you don't like free roams, doesn't mean you speak for everyone. Good thing is DPC will create the game he wants, regardless of what anyone says.

I suppose I meant to also say that get the base game out and put in minigames later. The minigames aren't important to the story and take time to create. I guess I'm just being impatient for chapter 9!

I think the only thing that I am not looking forward to is telling Josy and Maya about the Jill relationship. I'm sure DPC will hit us with some strong emotion in that one.

I really look forward to free roams actually. Always excited about new texts, Rooster posts and having a break to play minigames to get $ again.

For all like me this would be a big disappointment as I actually like some gameplay included, not only reading a story. So I think it will never be possible to have a perfect solution for everyone.

The free roams are what make this a "game" instead of just a "follow-me-here's-where-to-click" game like so many of the AVN's are. Honestly I feel my brain shrinking a little bit more with every one of those games I play as the novelty wears off. Frankly I wish these games were more challenging, not less, and involved more seduction and less sex, which in many games is so tiresome and with such awful dialogue that I end up clicking through it as fast as possible. The variety in BAD is what makes this game more interesting (aside from the humor and dialogue). I don't want to be spoon-fed, so if you don't like the free roams and sand box aspects of the game there's lots of other simpler and more simplistic games out there for you. Some of them are even fun. Go find them instead.
