Status update Episode 7 (Patreon)

Today, the v0.6.1 patch was made available for the $5 tier. Please note that you need the full Patreon version (v0.5.0 up to v0.6.0) to be able to patch the game to v0.6.1.

This week I've been writing and posing animations while testing the new GPUs.

The speed is truly amazing and I've been increasing the length of the animations so far and also increased the render quality.

42 animations of varied length (1-20 seconds) are complete already.

I've estimated that the efficiency of these cards is 400 frames (or static renders), per day. 400 frames is equal to a ~13.3s animation @30fps.

Just as I thought, the bottleneck has thus shifted from animations to manual labor; including writing, coding, posing renders, post-processing art, and more.

When it comes to future updates, the goal for me isn't to stress and release them faster, but to include the content I want and increase the quality of the art.

If an update is released faster than usual, it's a happy bonus. Regardless, development has gotten a huge boost, all thanks to you.

Poll news

The winner in the poll for an extra wallpaper was Jill with the option front focus. I will order and include this 2D wallpaper in Episode 7.

In December, there will be new polls to participate in.

Walkthrough news

I will write the walkthrough soon and release it to the $15 tier. It should be ready sometime in early to mid-December.

Getting the development for episode 7 up and running smoothly takes priority at the moment.

Some small feedback. Some of the looped animations in ep. 6 was rather clunky. Like the person starts in a still position, then move for 2-3 seconds and then stop again for a second before the animation restart. A looped animations shouldn't stop before it restarts. It needs to be continuous to feel realistic. I realize this is much more difficult. But some of the animations are already good at this. Maybe I'm a bit extreme but personally I even prefer the static renders to the clunky animations. It's just not engaging looking at a poorly cut loop. Anyway, keep up the good job, love the game!

Good question then is how would it impact the total file size, knowing that chap 1-6 is already 10+ GB

Quinn is the worst. IDK who keeps keeps voting for her but whoever it is they probably like to dip their french fries in chocolate or some weird shit like that. Sage, Josy, Jill, Jade, are all that matter in the animations. Don’t let an ep skip one of them w/out a major scene again!

Random question, have you made an actual figure of the heights of the main girls? Didn’t realise there was such a difference when say josy and Jill are standing nearby

The girls' heights have been modeled since their models were created. There are many things that affect the perception of their heights, i.e. camera angle, pose, shoes. Josy is among the shortest girls in the game and Jill/Sage/Bella/Nora and probably some more I don't think of right now, are the tallest.

all i can say is from episode 6 so far amazing for the type of game it is your top of the game please keep it up you put story into the vn and it matchs with the genre better then a lot of others do liking it so far hoping for a long story xD

Those are licensed music for one-time use within the game. They have to be handled in a separate way than CC0 music.

Sorry if this is wrote somewhere obvious, but is there a planned amount of Seasons? I think I remember it saying somewhere there is four episodes per Season, but nothing about how many Seasons there will be. Also whilst looking through to find the answer, found out it was just one person working on this, that is mental, mad respect DPC.

Same, I'm wondering if there's gonna be a timeskip or the story won't cover the full college life, seeing as we're approaching Episode 7 now and the story timeline has only been a few weeks.

Hey Doc. Would you consider adding a name setting option for the save point? It'd be much easier managing dozens of them.

when you save, there is a grey box right below the yellow save points. Type your name in there, and then save in a save point.

What Jamison said. Unless you meant it to be different? In the past, I think between episodes2-4, or something, you could enter a save name in one of the phone apps that I removed. I found it to be too clunky and hidden, so the box is in the save menu at the bottom now.
