If you ask me, Pokemon has stayed firmly in the shit to meh range ever since the XY generation including, so if Palworld manages to get them out of their funk it will be worth it. I still think that 90%+ of the hatedom for this game is just twitter losers going on in their worst possible faith because they like to tear things down, though.

Gamefreak has the resources to make a game on the scale of Breath of the Wild, but seems to churn out mainline games with less than a year of production. It is entirely possible for them to spend three or four years making a polished experience while having a team just make more DLC for the most recent mainline and other teams to handle spinoffs to fill the time gap.
