Jumping castle is what we've always called them. Best candidates for remakes imo are critical hits that didn't sell well, but have over time grown in the gaming lore. Like Vagrant Story, Beyond good and evil, planescape torment etc.

Bouncy Castle Also, thinking of Freedom Fighters and how it would be done better - what about if it was genuinely open world. No side quests on the map, just lots of snipers, roving patrols from depopts and bases that would be very helpful if you took out. As well as fights between AI citizens and the Soviets were you could help and recruit some more people to your cause.

Vagrant Story is the one for me. All it needs is a coat of paint and one-button weapon swap with the ability to save loadouts, and you're pretty much good to go.
