Turnip Boy Robs a Bank and the Joy of Dumb Games | Bytesized

Games have grown up. Their storytelling ability is finally caught up with their technical mastery, and we’re now treated to some of the most immersive narrative experiences media can offer. It’s no longer all that hard to find quality writing and mature scenarios across both big AAA releases, and smaller independent projects. But as much as I love how far my favorite pastime has come, it's always nice to be reminded that videogames can also be incredibly dumb. I tried Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion because of your review KC, and I loved it. This Bytesized is amazing and hits on a topic that I’ve been noticing more and more in games - needing to balance the thematic and gameplay weight between play throughs of different games. Thank you for putting that idea to words so well!

Loved hearing how much they'd changed up the gameplay for the sequel. Definitely on the list
