Every monthly sprint I have to do the following jobs:

  • Bug fixes
  • Planning and making script for the next update 
  • Making the next update
  • Making of rewards
  • Self-education to improve my dev skills
  • Marketing and community building stuff

So, the first week of April is gone and I want to make a report for my community, what I was doing for the past 7 days.  

Bug fixes and report process.

As you may have noticed, I published a hotfix release 0.8.9.1 last Monday. Also, I updated the public link to 0.8.8.1. So don't forget to check them. One more important message. I received a lot of #bugreports in my discord channel not only from current patrons, I really appreciate your activity. But I want to clean up the mess with some repeatable messages.  If you want to make a report, please be sure that you are playing the latest build

HDRP research. 

I mentioned before that after completion of The Last Barbarian game I will work on a new project. For now I’m planning this project and collecting the bunch of technologies that I want to talk about now. Since this January, Unity High Definition Render Pipeline package has become Production Ready, it means that it can be used in real projects. I understand that I can’t reach the AAA graphic level by myself, but I want to make the most beautiful picture that I can as a single dev. I focused on a new approach to skin rendering and now I have a skin material workflow for my  future characters. You can watch the SFW video in this post.

Working on the next update.

The next 0.9 release will have the latest global update. The pregnancy system. So Barbarian will be able to get pregnant by any character with male genitalia. The pregnancy system also  will be improved in the next releases according to your suggestions too.  

Next 7 days I will spend on 0.9 and will share with you more details later. 

Goals are changing

I changed the current goals. Why? First of all, the motion capture suite is a really outdated goal, because I have enough skills for creating smooth animations. So I don’t want to waste money on buying expensive gadgets.  Also I have friends in a local gamedev company, so if I need some specific mocap I can hire them.   

Second I understand that as a single dev my resources are limited. Especially the time. So I see only one solution for me - I have to grow from a single dev to the small team.  I have enough experience of team management, because I was CTO of a small local dev company for years before I went to the adult gamedev.
