0.9.37 Release Notes: Barbarian as a Prisoner (Patreon)

Hello Everyone! The new update is ready! The prison is probably the oldest location in the game that I haven't updated for several years. It also contained outdated mechanics, broken quests, and didn’t fit into the multi-slot save system. It’s time to update it.

The location has been reworked and expanded. I will still be adding new content here and more additions in the next update, but for now, the mechanics are ready. 

There are several ways to get into the Davenant Prison: 

• Brothel - conflict with the guard if we refuse too many clients.

• Seeking a new volunteer after the old one dies for the witch.

• If we fail to accuse Mayor Hugh. 

• If we seduce the guard at the gates of Davenant and then attempt to kill him.

General Mechanics

In the prison, there are three times of day (morning, day, and night). In the morning and during the day, we can interact with the guards, the warden, and work. There is also a hunger parameter. Since the prison is not required to feed us for free, we need to work for food. 

Work 

While serving time in prison, the Barbarian can work as a cleaner, help in the barracks, work in the kitchen, or serve the Warden. 

Cleaner 

There is no indecent content here; just clean the prison of all mold and you will be released.

Kitchen Assistant 

Deliver food to the prisoners. If you make more than two mistakes, you will be deprived of food and might get your sentence extended. The cook can be seduced.

Work in the Barracks

You need to sharpen rusty swords. If you ruin a sword, you will receive a lockpick for escaping. As with the cook, if you make a mistake, you can seduce the guard.

Maid for the Warden

Your task is to serve the correct drink based on his mood (pay attention to the mirror). If you fail him, you will end up in solitary confinement with tentacles.

Escape

 If you have a shard of a sword, you can try to escape. If you get caught, your sentence will be doubled.

Hunger

 If the Barbarian doesn’t eat for a long time, she risks dying of starvation. If the Barbarian does her job correctly, she can ask the cook or the guard for food at night. Food can also be bought with gold. At night, as payment for food, she can offer her "services" to the guard.

The Barbarian can also complain about the cold in the cell.

Early Release 

The Barbarian can be released early from prison if she agrees to "re-education" by the executioners. This mechanic was previously available in the game under very specific conditions (which caused many players to miss it), but it was broken after one of the updates. Now it has been fixed.

If you played version 0.9.36, I am releasing this location as a separate build so you don’t have to download the full build to explore the new content.

Possible Bugs, Clarifications, and Notes

To save your time on bug reports that I already know about, I will specify certain points here that I didn’t manage to incorporate/fix (I didn’t want to delay the release too much).

• Imprisonment Term is Always 20 Days. In the next update, it will change depending on the crime committed.

• I want to add a few more ways to get into the Prison in the next update (Bank, Tavern, etc.).

• Yes, the Warden is a character from the Dungeons of N’ul demo. I have plans to develop his storyline further in the future. 

• There are no interactions with other prisoners; I didn’t have time to debug this content. The interactions will be unlocked soon

• The Witch and Succubus events are disabled. There will be new content for the Witch. 

• Wrong char icon is used in the dialogue with the Guards and Warden . I had an issue with my rendering subscription - when it’s fixed I will replace this.
