Today we’re talking about Dilla’s final release during his lifetime, his supposed “magnum opus”, diving into the REAL story behind Donuts, the myth surrounding it, recreating several beats that showcase a variety of sampling styles, and attempting to find the meaning of it all.


A couple things to note: this video is over 6 minutes longer than the YouTube edit! Also, if you're in the Producers tier, I'll be posting all of the Ableton session files I used in this video on Monday! 


Last but not least, in tribute to Dilla, I'll be going Live in the Break Room on Patreon on Saturday February 10th at 5pm PST. I'll be playing ALL Dilla - and this month's livestream will be open to ALL tiers on Patreon - free included. I'll post more info on that as well in a separate post.
