Today is the 30th anniversary of Nas’ Illmatic. So today, we’re gonna talk about yet ANOTHER incredible producer who worked on this album: Large Professor. He produced multiple songs on this album, but today we’re looking specifically at the last song on the album “It Ain’t Hard To Tell”. This song has it’s own journey as there are multiple version of this song, but… well the easiest way to navigate this is to… use a metaphor.

dude, I recognized that Biz sample immediately! I wore Nobody Beats The Biz out when it came out! Another cool thing that a lot of people miss is that Pete Rock sampled Biz on like 85-90% of all of the songs on Mecca and the Soul Brother and The Main Ingredient. Sampling gave hip-hop such a sense of community.
