CosmicNeko

I assume we’re going to the same exact spots we were per option? Like taking the vent won’t have us take a right in tbe vent instead of a left

ozoneserpent

Yes to be clear, A would return you to part 8's position (inside the duct), and B would return to you part 10's (at the threshold of the door).

CosmicNeko

Let’s go over everything we know: We know the boogies in tbe next room react to sound, and we know boogies in general return to their original positions if they don’t find anything. Considering we know this now, it’s possible to take the next room more quietly through the door, considering it seems our only failure there was the boogie hearing us because we were presumably running, compared to the vent which leaves us with very limited options, while if we approach the main room quietly we could in theory slip by when the boogie’s back is turned That said, if I’m missing anything do add on to this P.S this feels like I’m playing ace attorney lol

ozoneserpent

I'll give you a hint since this is something Cassandra already experienced. The floor in that room makes a loud noise due to the amount of pressure. So in other words, even if you walk slowly, it still makes the same loud noise.

MrToastsandwich

I see what you’re saying, but are we sure we can enter without making noise? On the other hand, I would be very surprised if the boogie haven't made its’ way back by now. I need to think about this some more…

Erise

So with that hint the floor in the room makes the same loud noise and we already know how that went, so let's take the vent and hope we can beat it back in time I'd say

ozoneserpent

You're certain. You were careful/slow in your approach the first time in fact once the door closed behind you.

MrToastsandwich

Oh, I don’t like the sound of that AT ALL! That might mean I’m right about alerting them by accident. If the boogies have showed one thing it’s that they aren’t stupid.

CosmicNeko

I assume this also takes total weight into account rather than just pressure

MrToastsandwich

Just like Dotzrus said, that would be our safest bet. Especially since we would be able to tell where they are in the room thanks to the monitor.

PyroJack24

I'm just going to say this much; huzzah for being right about the green boardered hole in the wall being a good thing! Video game logic didn't fail/betray me! But yes, we know the floor reacts to pressure; there's no way Cassandra could climb up once in there, and the ENTIRE floor makes noise, even behind the door. The vent may be the safest choice.

Anonymous

Well we know that the path past the door leads to us making noise unavoidably, it'll just attract the boogie again. Worse, it might get even /more/ suspicious on having heard a noise in that direction twice- they're a bit on the slow side but these things ain't stupid. So I say, stay our original course and head into the vent.

Anonymous

...soo why are we at 76 votes and the majority want us to head to the door, have we gone collectively stupid or something despite the fairly obvious advice? I'm kind of just bewildered

Anonymous

(I have kind of a bad feeling that having more lives is gonna make people more reckless, please don't do this guys pf)

Anonymous

Okay, I'm gonna have to ask once again, but can we hear the big guy in roughly where they are? Also, just for people who read this, I think we can tell if it's safe to come out the other end of the vent by looking at the monitor and seeing if there's 1 or 2 boogies.

Anonymous

Going into that room will always make a loud noise and alert the boogies no matter how hard we try, the vent is actually safer so long as we use the monitor and what we can see to our advantage.

ozoneserpent

Also to be clear, you won't be entering the large room if you choose B. You'll stop at the threshold of the door like part 10.

Anonymous

C'mon people, why go back to the large room?? We tried it before and it didn't work, I'm failing to see your logic here. We got a better stab with the vent if the other boogie still hasn't returned to its original spot, AND we'll just cause noise on entry to the other room again if we go that way. Which means, by the way, that if the other boogie indeed has NOT returned to its original spot yet...then it'll be closer to us when we make noise, meaning it might reach us quicker than we can run away this time. Use your heads. Please. (I'm begging you, we can't just get these new lives only to immediately screw up after, right? Right???)

MrToastsandwich

Really? Hm, maybe we could try to feint the boogies? We could make sure that we have enough time to not get spotted by big guy, make a distraction for the boogie in the other room and quickly crawl through the vent!

CosmicNeko

Aye, I realized vent may be better once I got context, apologies

MrToastsandwich

I just thought of something. Ozone has pointed out that we will not ACTUALLY enter the room. We are going to stand outside of it like we did in part 10. Since I honestly doubt that we will make it through the vent before the boogie returns, why not try to feint him? We wait for big guy to make his round, make noise in the room when we are certain that big guy is far away enough and hurry through the vent!

Anonymous

I mean we can't predict that will happen, but if that's how things go then sure. I just reckon going around in a circle will get kinda annoying but I'd rather be wrong if people end up voting for the door than not.

MrToastsandwich

On the other hand… Where is big guy right now? The only way I could imagine losing a life right now is if big guy sees us. We have established that he can’t see us in the vent, so maybe we should just hide in there for now.

MrToastsandwich

Off topic, Ozone? What would happen if the votes are split evenly 50/50?

ozoneserpent

There are two layers of tie breakers. The first goes to subscribestar (if it doesn't cause a tie, as those votes are valid), then the next is the fake poll on twitter.

KaleShibata

once again its not in our best interest to be spotted by one since its been made obvious once one sees us and transmits any ahead of us will know how to obstruct us. doesn't matter how fast we are it matters how outnumbered we are.

Anonymous

Things seem to be balanced on a knife's edge, but in the vent's favour...I'm glad, but here's to hoping this doesn't backfire absolutely spectacularly.
