Still playing around with video stuff for fun.

Also really thinking that I might start doing a weekly web comic of Crime Club just to start getting story stuff out and because I'm actually still having fun with this world. I think I'd aim for some weekly update but not sure on the format yet. Not 100% sure if I should keep print versions in mind or just go full web/mobile?

None of this would happen until next January anyway.

I don't understand why you'd have to keep print in mind if you make it a web comic. Does it have to do with how you'd arrange panels?

Exactly. Good comic storytelling involves using the whole page. Actually what side the page is on if you are doing print. It's not impossible to reformat art to work in different page aspect ratios but it is boring and time consuming (have done it a few times in the past). Also they don't usually look as good as pages designed for a certain aspect. That's not even taking the long scrolling mobile style into account - I'm still keen to try doing that at some point. And the reason to do print is to sell it and have a nice hard copy for when civilization goes to pot.

I knew this, I was just thinking that in the end the pages will be rectangle either way and are alright to print (besides the scrolling kind.) I do prefer portrait, though, because that's the traditional way. It fits better on shelves and mobile phones, and I know I'm going to want a printed copy at some point. I read a few webcomics that follow the portrait aspect ratio, I don't mind scrolling a bit on PC when it's not landscape.

Blade Kitten started of landscape... and black and white. I did about 100 pages then reformatted them all to portrait later on. Mech skin is all landscape including the print version - though I did get a few issues reformatted as a standard portrait as well. Crime Club I really like the French BD aspect. I guess it all comes down to not wanting to have to reformat it with B tier layouts. Also I really want to do a nice hardcover for it all at some point :)
