Tier notes, including the introduction of the $4 Quick Fic Access tier (Patreon)

As you’re probably aware, I wrote Trick or Treat, Spider in late October as a bit of a test for writing some shorter ‘quick fic’ chapters so this page can be updated with new content more regularly in addition to the two general poll fics and What’s Yours is Mine, as part of a general rethinking of how I do things here. I’m satisfied enough with the results to commit to doing more of that going forward, and there will also be some changes to the tiers here coming up as part of this reworking.

Here is an overview of the tier changes coming soon:

$1: Classic Reader tier

-It seems like not many people in the Patreon space have $1 tiers anymore, at least from what I’ve seen, and I did consider doing away with this tier altogether. I like having this $1option though, and I also don’t want to leave the hundreds of people at this tier out in the cold. So, it’s staying, but being modified a bit. Starting in December, patrons at the $1 tier will still be able to read both general poll fics as well as the monthly What’s Yours is Mine chapters as soon as they’re posted, but they’ll no longer have votes in the polls. This tier will still be able to vote in both November polls because I want everyone to get everything they paid for, but starting in December, the $1 tier becomes solely for reading.The new quick fics will also not be available to anyone at this level starting now.

$3: Classic Voter tier

-You can think of this as offering the same benefits that the $1 tier always did before. You’ll be able to read both of the general poll fics and What’s Yours is Mine chapters, and also vote in the polls for them. This tier won’t be introduced until after the November polls are finished, as I want anyone who joined/kept their pledge going throughout October to get everything they paid for in November, poll votes included. Starting in December, though, you’ll need to be at this tier or higher if you want to vote in those general prompt polls.

$4: Quick Fic Access tier

-This is where the quick fics come in. You’ll obviously have all of the reading/voting benefits of the lower tiers here, but you’ll be able to read all quick fics too, and vote in any polls that might come up within them (as we’ve seen happen multiple times in Trick or Treat, Spider.) I’m setting a minimum target of 5 quick fic postings per month, but ideally that number will be higher in most months, depending on my schedule. Any quick fics from November on will require you to be at this tier or higher to read. Like poll stories, these will probably see public release eventually, but we’re talking multiple months in the future at least.

$5: Nominator tier

-Not a whole lot to say here; this tier still gets to read/vote/nominate as always, plus you’ll also have access to the quick fics.

(Those at the $10 tier will obviously have full access to all of this, but I’m not really highlighting that tier since I’m no longer accepting anyone new at that tier.)

So, yeah, this is what we’re looking at as I try to keep this page updated more regularly while also having a wider range of tiers than I have been previously.
