Finally Addressing the Revision of the Knight Academy Arc (Patreon)

And by 'addressing', I mean 'announcing that it's finished'.  Yes.  I've finally buckled down and did it.  It's over.  Done.

Or, at least, I hope.  And even if it's 'done', it's only the first revision.  Only took me about 3 fucking years, but it's done.  And while we're on that topic, I'd like to apologize for just how damned long this has taken, especially this last leg of the process.  It got to the point where I was so embarrassed at how long it was taking that that embarrassment was actually getting in the way of working on the revisions.  It was lazy and dumb.

But I finally just did them.  Sat down to work a bit today, hit some writer's block, and instead of trying to work through it I just decided to actually get these damned revisions done.  So I swallowed my embarrassment and did it.

I'm not 100% happy with the revisions themselves; there're a ton more changes I'd probably make in another pass, but for the first revision, I'd say I'm quite a bit happier with these chapters now than I am about the chapters before the revisions were complete.

Anyway, I've posted them up over on my website (link also above and below) where I encourage everyone to check them out and let me know if I've made any mistakes anywhere, preferably on Patreon or Discord where I'll be more readily able to get those mistakes fixed and concerns addressed.  The points I was personally trying to watch out for was how the timeline changed regarding Leon learning of Valeria's family's involvement in his father's death, Gaius learning that he is to become a hostage of Prince Octavius, and the fact that the Legate of the Knight Academy was basically cut completely from the story.

Because of that cut, chapters 166 (Roland's Investigation part 1, where Roland goes to the Knight Academy and interacts heavily with the Legate in his search for Leon) and 297 (Invitation, where the Legate goes to Prince Trajan to tell the Prince that he knows about Leon's heritage, but chickens out and only extends an invitation for Leon to attend his cycle's proper graduation from the Knight Academy) were both cut as well.  Just that one decision to get rid of a character led to 2 additional chapters and plenty of words in others getting sent to the chopping block.

Anyway, yeah.  It's done and I can finally stop stressing about it.  Please check out the revisions now that the complete picture is out and let me know either here on Patreon or over on Discord if I've made any mistakes anywhere.  I intend to leave the revisions 'unpublished', which is to say only on my website, for a week or two to give people time to comb through them and potentially give feedback, and based on what feedback I get (if any) I'll decide to formally publish the revisions after that.

Now I can start worrying and stressing about other revisions and even potentially publishing this story somewhere like Kindle.  After this experience, though, I'm not making any promises nor setting any dates.  If it happens, it'll happen in its time.
