One neat thing about creating a method of FTL travel is you don't have to justify it, because it's all bullshit anyway. You just gotta come up with its rules.

I figured I'd have to post things like this anyway, so I can refer all the inevitable nerdy questions to it later.

I'd like to start this comic seriously sometime this year.

I've run into guys like Faras in IT a hundred times. Someone taught them a trick see, and now they use that trick to get one over on you. They'll never teach YOU the trick, because how are they supposed to get one over on you then? But someone taught THEM. Also, the technology they so smugly flaunt is not their work at all, they had nothing to do with it, if they had never been born it all still would have happened.

Hyperstate Generator technology from this point forward shall be known as Pure Fucking Magic or "PFM". This is a known, proven, and reliable technology to be accepted by all users and application of it. I understand.

So all ships have giant balls sitting on them. Kind of like the Annie Plants in Schlock Mercenary. It is a way to make your craft designs look unique, and have practical limitations. I admit, I like it when a space travel story actually has specific FTL mechanics, and not just “ship just drives to next planet”

Thisguy

Now, it says you can’t engage objects in hyperstate in battle, but I’m sure there is some way to force them out of hyperstate. How practical that is however...

Probably impossible, but I'd favor targeting the generator array first thing when a ship pops out into standard reality. Good way to disable/destroy an undesired vessel, depending on how dramatic the failure state is.

Thisguy

Good tactic. It’s Probably at least very heavily armoured, if not shielded, but depending on your weapons, far from impossible. Of course, this says it’s a civilian vessel, so may not expect to be under attack. Though it does have a hanger. I’d say that to prevent the HSG from being shot, most space battles would be carried battles, the ship stays a distance, and sends fighters out.

I am excited to see this comic being made. I really want to see how the crew react to each other in one ship and possible relationships.

Well, in them. The housing can take on various shapes. I imagine a matrix of multiple generators for larger ships may look like cylinders or something.

A good DEW system and solid perimeter defenses can be worth gold, at least on point control.
