I really hoped to finish the transformation quest this week, but that won't happen because carefully playtesting the game from start to finish and fixing all issues (most related to the recent UI redesign) is taking more time than I initially expected. Not because there are that many bugs, fortunately, but because the existing content takes more time than I estimated to finish.
The good news is that I'm almost done with everything that should be dealt with immediately. As part of my effort to make the game playable and enjoyable on mobile devices, I've even created a new resist AVA minigame, and I'm personally very happy with it. I find it to be much more fun than the old one (I almost want to resist AVA now!), and it's also 100% touch-friendly. I would like to evolve other minigames in a similar manner eventually.
I've also implemented a new system for changing game statistics because I realized the old one was critically flawed. I explain the issue and the solution in this blog post if you're interested.
Most importantly, however, I have greatly improved my documentation, so working on the game will be a lot smoother and lead to fewer delays in the future.
I couldn't leave you without playable content this week, so I added two scenes with the cook. These scenes are randomly triggered when you go clean dishes for the cook (about 1 in 4 chance). They are very short (just a few passages in total), but they give you the opportunity to try the new minigame. You can also try it from the Extra Options menu (make sure your Synapse Steady VX implant has enough charge).
