This case was fascinating. I actually knew an FBI agent who was involved in profiling this case. I think Paul Bernardo started out as the Scarborough Rapist & graduated to murder. The agent, who was an incredible profiler, said he saw this coming. I know this happened in Canada, but they asked for help from the Americans because they weren’t catching him...& he was becoming very problematic. I detested Karla, because she was very involved in the crimes, but it was too late....Canadian authorities had already made what you very aptly called ‘a deal with the devil’.
