To answer your questions: 1. Was it instinct? Pretty much yeah. 2. Did he talk to anyone in his inner world? No. This form is basically his inner hollow taking over completely, think of it as the white version of him saying "You fucked up, now it's my turn. You couldn't keep us alive, now I have to.". 3. Is he a threat? I'll take your advice and I won't answer this.

I like that it's not directly pointed out but little hints sprinkled in to point to the hollow. 1) when asked, "who are you? Sword comes to his hand as in response. 2) when he blocked the Lance with his hand, it was the same when he destroyed byakuga's light sword with his hand during the Soul Society Arc.
