Here's the way I see it, and this is me "speaking on conjectures" as I have not seen the series except for your reactions so far so it's entirely possible that I am way off the mark. During the garden party, it was briefly mentioned that the Empress Consort, or the emperor's mother, had 2 kids. I think there's a certain "eunuch" watching over the concubines who still might have "has his manly bits". Maybe someone put there by the emperor because he trusts him implicitly, somewhat like a younger brother. Someone hiding himself behind his beauty, a mirror of someone else disguising themselves to hide their beauty.

Oooooh this is a really really interesting take for sure. I feel like the Garden Party was a turning point of sorts and there was so much information given there or rather “hints dropped” that I want to watch it again before I edit it 🤣 Thanks for sharing this, man! I love how much this show is making me think!
