watch out... (Patreon)

I drew this dude once before, and then kinda forgot about him? not literally, but, I was caught somewhere between being initially dissatisfied with him and just not knowing what to do with him. sometimes, as I've said before, I really like drawing more fantastical things. I'm torn between two interests: I love this slice of life stuff, these hot jock boys and the like, but I also have a strong interest in the fantastical... I think it may be fun for me to nurture this interest in my art a little more, when I feel like it.

originally I called this dude "honey", but since then I've renamed him to "hornet". why the name? well, honey badgers eat honey... from hives. do hornets produce honey? I actually don't know. but the purpose behind the name is that he's scary, like a hornet. with that special claw, hornet is able to slice rifts into space and time! he can even slip into these spaces and hide in them. you don't want to be on his hit list.

I think I always liked this design, but originally I felt I just didn't do it justice. it was probably one of my struggle days. this however is pretty damn strong in my opinion, a piece I had a ton of fun with and just took my time on, trying to tweak it carefully until it looked exactly like I imagined.
