Roland (Patreon)

This character may still be in a very slight semi-WIP state, but I do like what I've done with him here. Roland is supposed to be the consistent protagonist throughout the fictional in-universe series of Japanese action rpgs that exist in my world.

I slaved over this pic for an ungodly amount of time, for some reason. I think ever since I've been slowly climbing out of the unproductive art pit I had found myself in, I've just been more and more in the mood to illustrate fully colored stuff and its causing me to just go bananas with them lmao. It's nice though, to be able to produce character illustrations of this quality.

Overall I really like Roland. He's cute. His design draws a lot - heavily, even - from dragon quest, and I'd maybe try to dial that back a bit in the future but at the same time he does have his own features and characteristics - the little horned helm is very distinct, after all, and it's not as though seafoam tunics are exclusive...

We'll see where he goes.
