Starting the year off with Canadian Electronic Music artist/DJ, Joel Zimmerman, AKA Deadmau5. For those familiar with Deadmau5's music, he has brought forth some incredible tracks that still trend to this very day. Joel has won many Grammys for his work, and he continues to evolve, utilizing up-to-date technology such as Unreal Engine to provide a bigger experience. We get to hear about how Joel began making music, not really having an interest in EDM at first. We learn how he developed Deadmau5 into what it is today and how he came up with his unique name that derived from literally a dead mouse that was stuck in his GPU. This is something we have never showcased on the show and one of the coolest episodes to start the year. Please enjoy the show!!

I still can't watch this one. Flashes the intro for ~1 second and then goes black. What kind of phones is it working on and not working on?

My youngest son (now 29) introduced me to Deadmau5 long ago. I'm thankful, and I've never forgotten how awesome the music was at that time and still is. I did not know Joel was Canadian and lived in Niagara Falls. We're so close to each other, the U.S. and Canada. We need to support each other.

It made me very sad to see the negative comments about this interview with Joel. He is obviously a musically talented man who followed that creative dream and came out as a musically creative man who didn't bow down to anybody. And aren't these the type of guests that Shawn interviews? The ones who do not bow down, no matter? I am an American living in Canada. He is one of the ballsiest Canadians I have seen in the past 36 years of living here. He is showing the world an example of being true to himself even with all the pressure to conform.

I've only been a patreon for a few months. First off Shawn is a hell of a interviewer. I was a Navy brat (icon being from Gitmo) been doing six in the surface fleet. Regardless of the guest, I always seem to find some component of that man that I share. Even the deadmou5!
