This episode arrives early for all patrons and airs as our Christmas special on the Shawn Ryan Show YouTube channel. This is the final episode of the year. I just want to thank you all for supporting us this past year; this community is truly what makes this possible. A lot is yet to come in 2024.

This episode connects with a former guest, Kyle Morgan, who, in his previous interview, discussed the mission during which Ryan was wounded. Shawn personally calls Kyle during the interview, allowing us to hear both perspectives on the remarkable actions of Kyle and another comrade that resulted in saving Ryan Hendrickson's life after Ryan made his way to an Afghan terp who had wandered off into uncleared territory. As Ryan was clearing his way back, he began to witness movement, and a few steps later, his life would change forever. Ryan survived stepping on an IED and shortly returned to service after a successful limb salvage surgery.   

Once again, Ryan found himself in other life-and-death situations during an intense combat deployment where his unit was ambushed. Kyle reflects on this story during the show, which ultimately led to him being awarded the Silver Star for his actions that day. This episode covers a multitude of topics, including veteran victimization, overcoming trauma, reinventing oneself, the Afghanistan withdrawal, and Ryan's work in Ukraine.
