In Part 1 with Laird Hamilton, we explore his rough upbringing and his love for the water. Laird didn't have a father until the age of 5 when he found Bill Hamilton, a pro surfer. To Laird, he was walking among giants he aspired to become one day. We delve into life lessons he learned growing up, being a father of his own, and in his personal/professional career. Laird also touches on generational trauma, how he found sobriety from alcohol, and how faith impacted his family dynamic.

Thank you for this episode! Your conversation about sobriety was spot on & so encouraging. I will be making a Pellegrino Mocktail in my Vigilance Elite glass …might even use my SRS gummies as a garnish 🙌

This was a great discussion,Laird has a good vibe/energy to him. It always makes for the great discussion when a man wears his heart on his sleeve, and talks about his belief in god,and how much family means. I can just relate, god and family is my life and just growing as a person. I know a lot of the guests that you have on are Christians, and with myself being a Muslim we have some differences in our belief, but we have a lot in common. I believe it would be eye opening for a lot of people if we Muslims and Christians could engage in faith discussions more often, not as in a debate type conversation, but just to share our faiths and life experiences. I believe many people are very ignorant when it comes to Islam and Muslims and it would make for a great opportunity to answer questions and clear up any misconceptions. I wholeheartedly want everyone to attain true peace in this life and to live life with purpose and not take it for granted. I really enjoy listening to and watching your show Shawn, you’re doing some good work brother. May god bless and guide us all. Take care everyone.
