This week, Ryan and Dan set aside some of the usual topics for a more general check-in. They talk gardening and plant care, Ryan's recent getaway, Dan's fisherman past, the temporary NBA shutdown, "morning pages" and the ebb and flow of maintaining friendships during the pandemic. There's also some bug talk of the bee and ant variety, which will probably juice the listener count for this one in a big way.

Thank you two for the check in episode. I love hearing about you and your life during these tough times. You two always remind me of the good that does exist. Your perspective is so thoughtful and always makes me feel like I am ok. I have something I wanted to share with y’all too. I am an artist and am part of a super amateur improv group. Since Covid we have found ways to spend socially distant time together. Every Saturday we get together and make art together. We will set a clock and start painting and then pass it to the next person. We have 3 people and three canvases going. By the end of a 3-4 hour hang we will get a chance to catch up and make something together. It’s both fun and therapeutic. I appreciate y’all so much! Thank you for all the love and the laughter as well as your vulnerability and honesty. We love you so much. Take care of yourselves. Much love.

As per the lettuce question: White spots on lettuce could be a couple things, and it’s hard to tell without a picture. But my guess is drought or heat stress, as lettuce prefers cooler weather. Or it could be downy mildew, especially if it’s rained or extra humid followed by warm weather. But pictures are the best way to tell from a distance. Hope that helps, if but only a little.
