Happy Hour co-hosts Talia Tabin (@taliatabin) and Victoria Longwell (@victorialongwell) join Ryan and Dan to chat about the Lippert household's lovely new fridge, the NBA and MLB bubbles, running shirtless and, of course, an online wine brand that won't be explicitly named here until they pay up. They also listen to two service-industry stories from listeners like you... though probably not you specifically.

Thanks, as usual, to Tim Blane (@timblane) for composing the Happy Hour theme.

Another great Happy Hour! Got a quick baking suggestion Dan. If you don’t already have one, pick up a digital kitchen scale. The reason a ton of baking recipes are in grams is because it’s a unit of weight, rather than a unit of volume like cups and table spoons. That removes density as a variable for your measurements. If a recipe calls for a cup of flour, the amount of flour you measure out will depend on how densely you pack the flour into the measuring cup. A cup of packed flour is a lot more than a cup of sifted flour, but 100 grams of flour is always 100 grams. Also, converting grams to cups is totally dependent on what you’re measuring. 50 grams of puffed rice takes up way more volume than 50 grams of sugar. Also, it’s way easier to measure stuff out by weight. Instead of perfectly leveling off cups of flour, just dump a bunch onto a paper plate until you reach the desired weight on the scale. Sold yet? Sorry, long comment, happy baking!
