Happy New Year Party Members!

I know I'm a tad early but since there will be no post tomorrow I wanted to go ahead and say it! :D

Like most people, I like to reflect on my year around this time and take note of victories and defeats. I've had a lot of success this year, but I've also had a lot of failures. Like, a lot of em. 

Every composer call I've auditioned for I came up short, even one in particular that felt like it was in the bag. ( I came in 2nd place)

Believe it or not, I haven't produced as much music as I would have liked. Sounds crazy, considering that on top of all the Patreon stuff I've also worked on like 5 games, but it's true. I fell a tad short of that goal.

And in some ways, I feel like I failed with my videos and the ongoing story. Todays video for example. I had a grand image of what it could be, and while I checked off some of the boxes, I feel like it didn't live up to the hype (well, the hype I built in my mind at least). A fellow composer had to reassure me that the song was actually good before I scrapped it and started over at 5pm yesterday.

These are just a couple of examples, none of which are really a huge deal or anything. 

So why am I sharing all of this??? Good question.

I guess I just wanted to be real with you all. A lot of people only put their best stories out online. But behind those "perfect" personas is a real person, who is struggling with a lot of the same things that we all deal with. Imposter syndrome, depression, anxiety, etc.

I put this message out there in case any of you are doubting your own greatness going into the new year.  Believe me, if I can fail so many times and yet still look at this past year as being a success, then I know you can too! 

Tomorrow is officially the one year anniversary of this Patreon page. I had no idea I would recieve the amount of support I have when I started this, but each and every one of you has given me the drive to keep pushing forward with this.

I believe in this community. Because of all of you I've had a year that I didn't think was possible. And as the Party grows, I only see more greatness on the horizon!

Well I should probably wrap this up. It is about 10:47am as I am writing this, meaning this post is almost an hour late. Hopefully this message came across the way I intended, and doesn't sound like a boo-hoo fest, fishing for praise. 

tl;dr - YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING AND I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND OMG YOU ARE LITERALLY CHANGING MY LIFE AND I CAN'T WAIT TO WRITE MORE MUSIC FOR YOU!
