Vote for following month? (Patreon)

Hey guys n gals. It’s February!

I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to use Feb to catch up (again) on stuff that should already be done, so, maybe it’s a good idea to put out this idea. For right now I just want some quick feedback on the idea:

Should the votes be for the following month’s content instead of the current?

This would give people much more time to vote (could be open much longer) as well as give me more time to mull over ideas, plan, or prepare thumbnails. In the cases of votes where there are multiple polls, like “pick a category” then “pick an idea” etc, it could also feel less stressed for time.

The downside I see is someone maybe not getting the content they voted for if they need to stop or leave, but.. honestly I don’t see that being a very common problem, and the content can always just be requested. I’m not stingy on handing out missed artwork.

If you all agree, and would like me to try it out, I can start the voting now for March’s content, and in Feb will be finishing Nytro’s daki, comic pages, and Warning’s pinup here.

I think planning ahead of time is good for your own sanity as well as that of your followers. It also improves retention, though I'm not sure if that's something you're concerned about. People come here for your quality of work.

Doing March's voting now wouldn't be a bad idea. Fire example, it'd allow for a head start on the chance you finish everything else planned for this month

Sounds good to me and worth a try at he very least. It would certainly give everyone more time to work with and if it means even higher quality images than before, hell I’m all for it! Less strain on you as well.

idk, it might get confusing, and it might seem like there is a delay from when we vote to when we see it would likely be 2 months. i would rather just skip this months vote. then again if it makes it easier for u to get a head start im all for it. w/e is easier for you floof

Sounds fine to me! Although tbh I'd probably vote in favor of any scenario that involved the completion of Nytro's daki, which I've been looking forward to for literal years

While there would be a slightly longer delay from the initial vote, he'd likely still be doing stuff like the followup feedback posts all the way up to the next month, not to mention working on what was voted on the previous month. It's not like we'd vote and then not see him for almost two months. :P

It would be great for your pacing, I think. No change in overall content produced, just the timing of our involvement in the process. Being able to space out the feedback gathering and polls for one project (if needed) over a month while also getting to use that whole month to work on the previous voted project could help avoid burnout.

You could perhaps open a poll at the end of the month when you have completed everything else, but with characters and ideas that you want to do and let the poll settle which of the ideas gets done. If you don't get the chance to open the poll, no biggie. Let is serve as a little bonus at the end of the month if you don't feel burned out.

I definitely would love to see more work on those. I am in love with the covers! Though the female ones in particular. But whatever puts another beloved character in the pillow queue! I really hope this doesn't come across as rude. Sometimes I have a hard time sensing this.

I like the idea of putting the vote a bit farther out, gives a lot more reasonable time frame than trying to cram in the vote and the work in the same month. I agree, it doesn't seem like a lot of folks only show up for one month then bail, so it kind of negates that as a likely problem.
